Misleading
TRG SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COST, OR TO YOUR COST, AS MOST OF IT'S VICTIMS WILL CONFIRM. THE WEB SITE IS VERY MISLEADING AND IF NOT INSPECTED CLOSELY COULD BE EASILY MISTAKEN FOR THE HMRC WEB SITE DUE TO THE NAME (GATEWAY)AND THE WEB PAGES ON DISPLAY.
PROOF OF MY STATEMENT IS CONFIRMED BY THE NUMBER OF VICTIMS THAT HAVE REPORTED THE WEB SITE AND POTENTIALY MANY MORE WHO HAVE SUFFERED FINANCIAL LOST BUT NOT REPORTED THE WEB SITE.
As a victim, myself, an elderly pensioner, living alone I agree with all the above. I wish that I had known about the misleading nature of various copycat sites before completing my tax return and having to incur excessive charges for mistaking it for the official HMRC site.
Don't Be Fooled They Are Not Official
The site is linked to the government site, so the government is also to blame for the rip off. I just find out I'm not owing tax but the tax return gateway has already taken £150 from me. Don't be fooled, it is not a government site
Rip Off Site
This organisation will charge you £500 for a service that is free. If your reading this it might be too late but let others know.
Dont Be Fooled
Taxreturngateway charges for a service that is free on HMRC's government taxation Gateway
The site is designed to mislead users into thinking they are using an official service, when actually it is a company making money from filing tax returns.
On the last page of the site you are told that you owe tax and are asked for credit card details, this is not owed tax is is purely their fee. You may owe HMRC nothing at all!
Oh YES the fees - £100 to £1000.
The service is nothing more than a quick link to online filing. The company are very quick to point out that they don't offer refunds... distant selling of a product must surely apply.
The directors of this company have done their homework and use basic Google search engine techniques to attract customers.
They should be reported to ASA, Google, Trading Standards and given bad reviews on every site the exists to inform potential users of their misleading and cute tactics to extract "fees".
I would recommend everyone to avoid this site and encourage more onljne debate to ensure that such online website tactics are ended and consumers protected.

I fully agree with you. I have been ripped off as well. They have fraudulently charged me £650- for 'tax due' when it was actually their charges. It is fraudulent as they indicate it as 'tax due' and not 'charges for service' . They do not do anything other than forwarding the tax return to HMRC and charge you for it. I do not know how this happened as I have filled my Tax return online for years and this site was on top on the Google search site which I clicked on by mistake and thought 'this looks different' but mistakenly thought that the website appearance had changed. The colours are the same as the HMRC website and so misleading people. Their telephone number is not functioning anymore and they are not replying to my emails either.
I am reporting them to Watchdog as well so that they have as much negative publicity as possible.
i have been tricked by them.. they are copying the hmrc website i paid them £500 the goverment should not let this happen, and i rang my credit card company to see if i could get my money back, and they said theve had 1000s of people complainig about this and theres nothing they can do, the goverment want you doto ur tax return online, how can they let companys like this be above them on google, they should be held responsable. if any one has any idea of how to get my money bavk please let me know
I fully agree with the comments above
They are ripping off users as their fees usually exceed the tax refunds from HMRC
Who regulates these providers and like PPI, can no action be taken against them?
