I bought a item on ebay & with in days seller disappeared. Then the following day ebay has a confirmed that the seller's account is compromised. Open a dispute in pay pal to have my money, firstly they wait 6 days for seller's response. Then After I wait another 10 days + 2 more days but still I got no money.. Their customer service is utterly disappointment..

**you need to call 08 ( paying extra money than normal charges) around 10 minutes " I was speaking to a electronic man with a rude voice" wasting my money.

** Then finally got an agent but he says " they are waiting for Faxes " from admin department to release my funds after 18 DAYs.

I would like to ask Paypal UK what kind of a customer service you are offering??

They get their money & disappear , the buyer has to wait 18 DAYS even though YOUR PARTNER EBAY has confirmed there was no such seller & sellers account was compromised.

paypal are ok but i think they are too tied to ebay in that they are basically the same company. I had a problem with an online retailer not related to ebay, a big high street name. They blatently didnt send my items and had no proof of tracking for anything. I opened a paypal case and they just ignored it and didn't progress it. Most likely a big money maker this store so they dont want to lose the business. I eventually got my purchase 4 months after no thanks to paypal....very good wilkinson plus!

They like ebay are good for buyers but not great for sellers. If you run a business you get tripple wacked with the charges. listing fees, then paypal fees as soon as it hits your paypal account the fees are taken off and then you get hit with the final value fee charges.

I also received an email from paypal saying I had funds from the transfer to bank transactions ive made in the past as I've paid charges to get the money into my bank. The money still isn't there! look how quickly they take money away, I doubt there would be weeks and weeks of delays and it wouldn't suprise me if this refund never arrives.

When dealing with a difficult retailer who sold me faulty goods, eBay were genuinely fast and efficient in trying to resolve it and then getting me a refund when the retailer ignored me. Very efficient refund process done by email and using tracking numbers to prove return of the faulty item, PayPal then ensured the retailer refunded me so I was only out of pocket by the relatively small amount which was the return postage of the defective item that the retailer had sold me. Very impressed with PayPal UK on this, considering how many millions of customers they have this refund's speed was super-efficient of them.

Easy to use, but lacks in customer service when issues happen. However, since most of the time I am able to figure it out it works great. I use it with my friends, and have started using it more when shopping online. My only complaint is that you can't speak with a human when you have an issue. When it comes to something like money I'd like to know that there is a person staying on top of it.

Let's get this right - PayPal is not a registered bank. It can, and does, freeze accounts at whim, and there is nothing you can do about it because, in the United States anyway, it is not bound by banking regulations as far as I am aware. This opens it up to abuse by scammers, so regular users need to watch it like a hawk. I never had much of a problem with PayPal whilst doing small transactions, but doing larger transactions showed up the flaws of this service, for me anyway. Firstly, when I needed to draw more than my limit (how stupid to have a withdrawl limit on your own money), I had to verify my accoun. This took three days of wasted time. When I got round to withdrawing my money it had not left my account the first time and I had to do it again. This wasted another day. When I withdrew it again I did so via the quick send method, phoned customer services, who told me I would have the funds in my bank the next day. They weren't and I am still waiting for them to arive at the time of writing. OK, how difficult can wiring funds be. If I wire funds from my regular account here in the UK to another UK, or European account, the recipient will recieve them within two hours. Why PayPal withdrawls take up to five days to reach my account I don't know. Working through PayPal is like going back to the 1960's when transfers were hand written and posted daily by slowmail. I bet things were even quicker in the 19th century.

If you are running a business, your banking needs and services are vital to your success. I personally only use it for my own personal sales and not as a business. But if I were to run a small ecommerce business PayPal would not figure anywhere in the operation at all.

PayPal have got to do two things: register as a bank - although I think they have signed up to FSA rules in the UK (and I will be contacting the FSA soon to ensure good practice with PayPal in this country), and start being bankers and not policemen. If a customer is worried about being ripped off by a seller then take out insurance. PayPal should not have the right to freeze an account during a dispute. It really doesn't have anything to do with them. They are just a clearance house, no more than that.

I cannot believe this! 10 June I bought a fuel injection pump, advertised as Bosch overhauled on Ebay. I told the vendor I would only pay via PayPal, he wanted a bank transfer. PayPal invoiced me and I paid pump + core deposit + post from Germany.

The first pump was damaged (not in the post) the second clearly not overhauled. When I contacted PayPal they told me: I had bought OFF Ebay - they could not determine the price.

I sent them photos of the actual offer and numbers of two similar offers by the vendor after mine + pictures of both pumps. Two Bosch centers also confirmed the pump had not been overhauled. 31 July I received a call from PayPal and after confirming some facts was told I was in the right and would receive a full refund.

Today 7 August I received an e-m telling me that have no record of the phone call and they are staying with their original decision to not refund! I have to find an alternative company!.

i have tried to make an international transfer trough one Paypal account to another.

After one month and a half I am still waiting to have the money.

They claim "You can't convert too much money" (5000 GBP).

But I have still been charged for the conversion.

They tell you "in three days, they will contact you". they don't and you do contact them so as to hear "you are being investigating. we will contact you within three days".

If you don't need the money please use their service.

I had a Paypal account for years before I actually started using it last october. 2 months later I got a bad deal on the internet and thought my money was gone forever (almost £80). My mate told me Paypal can help you recover money in dodgy situations and yes after checking paypal.co.uk terms and conditions they did and I managed to get all my money back. Thanks to paypal.
