Living in Euroland for 12 years with income, of necessity, taxed in UK, we need to purchase and transfer euros on a regular basis. Originally we left this to our UK High St. bank until we needed to ask them to quote for the transfer of larger sums required for a house improvement project. The response received was that they did not know what that days rate of exchange was or how it was calculated, nor could they transfer us to someone who did.

FirstForex were personally recommended to us by a retired foreign exchange broker friend who had previously worked with both directors. I have just used Firstforex because of the reviews I found on this site. I have to agree with what was said before. Their staff were a great help and explained everything to me in plain English....and I actually understood it (that's a rarity for me!!) which meant I got a much better rate than I expected. After checking with the rate my bank would have given me I have saved nearly £3k on the property I have just bought in Portugal!! :-) Yay for FirstForex. Like others, I was given FirstForex Foreign Exchange as a recommendation from an associtae who had been using them for all of her requirements to date.Being a new business with very little knowledge of the world of foreign exchange I found myself in what could have been a very vulnerable position. As risky as I felt it was, I put all of my requirements at their door.They immediately took control on my behalf and provided me with invalueable advice, a fantastic rate (which I have since researched and struggled to beat) and an immpecable service along with aftercare which actually goes over and above the standard requirements of business.My knowledge has vastly improved, thanks to their patience with me!! But also, they continue to pass on their expertise so that I am always fully versed, whether I require their services at that particular time or not.I must say that anyone will struggle to match, let alone beat this service. I wouldn't think twice about reccomending them to anyone who wishes to deal with true professionals yet still get a personal service.

I came upon FirstForex through a recommendation from a business associate. I must admit I approached them with some caution as I couldn't find any reviews on their service but found that this was due to them being a new start up company and I know more than most that everyone has to start somewhere and decided to give them a chance. The rates I was quoted for both Euro purchase and Arab Emirate Dirham took me by surprise as they were far better than I had been quoted by my existing brokers whom I was already dissatisfied with hence my need to source a new broker. My registration was completed swiftly and within an hour of my initial contact I was able to trade with them. I needed to make a payment to a developer in Bulgaria the same day to secure a development that had unexpectedly come back onto the market. I agreed a rate with them and arranged a CHAPS transfer to their account. I received a call from my developer at approximately 2pm the same day to confirm that the funds had been received. My first contact with FirstForex was at approx 10am and within a 4 hour period they had registered me, received my transfer and forwarded my funds to receive the developer. I must admit that I didn't expect the transaction to be concluded the same day and I was over the moon to say the very least! I have another development coming up in Abu Dhabi which thankfully won't be such a rush to complete and I shall be using FirstForex for this transaction as I am positive I will get the best rate and it is also nice to know that they can work at speed if needed! Overall their service has been exceptional and they keep me regularly updated via e-mail each morning on the current rates. I can whole heartedly recommend this company which is not something I often do with my cynical nature in a cynical world!
