Waiting... Waiting... Waiting....

I don't think I'll ever know how good or bad the Evans Store Card is! I signed up for one at a local Evans store and many weeks later am still waiting for a card to actually arrive. After the first 10 days' wait, I called Card Services and it was discovered that it had been dispatched to the wrong apartment number. The advisor took my correct details and promised a replacement card within the following 10 days. Once again, it did not arrive. However, strangely, my statement did, and that's how I discovered that further errors had been added to my address. I now await the delivery of a third card, but hardly with 'bated breath, because with inefficiency at this level I shall never dare to use it.

Refunds Refunds Refunds

You see the advert for the 25% off days and you start planning your whole summer wardrobe - huge mistake. The website gets so busy that you constantly get frozen and then your order seems to disappear so you have to start all over again and has anybody else noticed that new tops seem to appear every time you look - does my head in THEN... you have bought items from your local store, took them home and need to return some. Hahahahah. Just returned about £100 today and yet only £29 got put back on my card. Seems its a "new system" where the total refund comes direct. Not completely convinced there and feel really short-changed leaving the store today. Seriously if there was more choice out there for us voluptuous girls then I for one wouldn't be back.....

Keep Away From This Card

I have had this card for a few years - and have been scammed on 3 occasions which has never happened to me on any other card.

However the worst element is the customer service. They never resolve anything by email, all needs to be done over the telephone- always write the samething - call the call centre. 10p per minute and you will never get anywhere in first 10-12 mins - on average I have been waiting around 14-17 mins.

I hace complained- whoever investigated it made mistakes so I had to call again to point out the mistakes.

APR is also high and not worth it for those few vouchers u occasionally get.

My advice - KEEP AWAY - never seen or heard of a worse store card.

Dd Taken Early

Take DD every 28 days regardless of date you set it up for; this means you can incur monthly overdraft charges without even knowing it, ths systems seems to be set up to catch people out.

When you phone to enquire about your account, you reach a call centre abroad who read scripts and claim that they can take money when they like, asking for a supervisor incurs a lengthly wait on the phone at 10p per minute

Account Card Doesn't Work On Evans Website!

Would love to know if anyone else has this problem. I've had my Evans Mastercard for 3 years now. The card is great for using in store but guess what? My evans account card doesn't ACTUALLY work on the evans website? So thanks very much Evans for all the many emails and invitations you send me with special cardholder promotional discounts to be used online... but what an absolute joke that not all cardholders can buy from you online.... makees my account card about as much use as a chocolate tea pot. Cheers :(

Especially unhelpful is the admission that 'some account cards don't work on our website' and then the constant passing of buck between Santander Cards and Evans website. Even less helpful is the insinutation it's an account problem when I pay all outstanding balances by direct debit every month.

I couldn't agree with you more I have had exactly the same problems for ages now with my Evans Mastercard. It doesn't work on the Evans Website, and Evans are absolutely useless at sorting out the problem, they just keep making excuses and blaming me for the problem. Evans it is not me, it is you. Get this issue sorted out once and for all, as it is sending your customers crazy.

Teach Me To Be Greedy

I saw a dress I wanted for a wedding - foolishly I let myself be talked into qualifying for a discount by taking their store card. BIG MISTAKE. As soon as they mentioned Santander I should have run a mile, I've read so many appalling reviews of that company's customer service, and sure enough they lived down to my expectations.

I was concerned that I'd had no communication from the company and went on line to try and pay the full amount I'd put on my card, the wretched website didn't even recognise my account number. Long story short I then spent 25 minutes on the phone to some far flung shore trying to get the person to issue me with a temporary password, he gave me assurances that an email with said password would be forthcoming - that was on Sunday 13th Feb .... and here I am Thursday 16th Feb still waiting. When I try and make a payment on the phone, the line is permanently engaged. I shall now resort to old technology and send my payment by post - seems to me I've used up that discount on the phone and internet. GRRRRRR

Late Payment Phone Calls

The apr on these cards is increaseing all the time. If you are one day late they charge you a £12 fee and the phone calls start. These are timed to be at the most inconvenient times. IE early sunday morning or when you are tea time or up till nine at night. They can be more than twice a day and can therefore be counted as harrassment. The call centre people are very patronising and seem to ask questions to belittle you. If you pay on line they then still talk to you in a patronising way. Don't touch any of the santander cards with a barge pole

I Recently Missed A Payment And Received A Very Pa

I recently missed a payment and received a very patronising call from a call centre. I refused to make the payment on the phone and made it on line the next day. Tried to used my card on line a week later and the payment was declined. I rang the call centre and was told because I had fallen into arrears (even though I was now up-to-date with my payments) it had altered my credit profile and I could not use my card. Surprisingly I went on line and used my Santander Burtons card to pay for my Evans purchase. I think that the patronising person in the call centre has made a decission to have my card stopped.

I Was Pressured Into Taking This Card By The Store

I was pressured into taking this card by the store in September 2010. In December I started receiving calls from Santander demanding minimum payment of £4 and telling me that I had already incurred a standard £12 non payment bill. I had received neither card nor statement by this time. I requested a duplicate of the statements for which they charge £4 which also failed to arrive so fearing they would destroy my credit rating paid by telephone and cancelled the card. The calls continue unabated from Santander. This is either a totally incompetent organisation or some kind of scam. This review demands at least one star per category or I would clearly have given them straight zeros.
