Amazing Experience From Start To Finish

My recruiter was amazing from start to finish and helped me with every query her replies were quick and always answered with the information I needed. Recommend her hard to ANYONE trying to find work. Got my an interview with support before during and after. Fabulous lady thank you. The work you have done has genuinely been life changing,

Thanks again

Very Misleading

Having recently finished university, I spotted that Katie Bard were recruiting for a graduate recruitment consultant position, which I clicked on and applied for. I got a phonecall the same evening, asking if I'd like to come in. The guy who rang me said that 'we'd look through my cv' when I arrived which I thought was a bit strange but nonetheless, he'd made it sound like an interview. I'd done some research and some interview prep and was ready to go.

However, when I arrived, I was confused when I was told I needed to register and then somebody would be in for a chat. The guy who I met was lovely but it was a massive waste of time. It wasn't an interview at all and instead we spent around 1hr basically going through my education. I then enquired about the position advertised and said that was what I had applied for but all I got was that I'd be sent the details if I was interested. I haven't heard a single thing for them since even though I said I'd be interested in other jobs.

It is very misleading. Make sure if you apply for the grad role and get a phonecall that you are going for a job interview and its not them just getting you to register. I'd booked a whole day off work to go into Birmingham for what I thought was an interview and it was nothing of the sort, and to be honest it was really unhelpful and a massive waste of time.

Avoid Like The Plague

Poor service!!! After being out of work I had my interview with one of the consultants, they were positive and offered me temporary work until a permanent position became available. They called me a few days later to offer me the work for the following week but haven't heard anything. The person who deals with the temporary workers ignores me, the consultant ignores my calls and emails. They do not find you work they make you believe you will and they advise not to sign up to any other agencies but you would be out of work for the rest of your life waiting around for these people. They need to understand it's people's lively hood and they are in desperate need of work. Please do not touch these people as they will fill you with false promises and couldn't care less about finding you a job either temp or permanent.

Disgraceful

Registered with Katie Bard immediately after being made redundant and although the interview went well and it was very positive, the company is an absolute disgrace. Not once did the representative (Birmingham office) contact me with any potential leads and I had to contact them to ask why after seeing lots of HR admin roles with their name attached that they hadn't contacted me to put my name forward. Would not touch this company with a barge-pole!!!!

Worst Of A Bad Bunch

Despite a good first impression during the registration process, I began to feel uncomfortable during the interview. The woman (fairly senior) seemed shocked that someone with high grades didn't already have a job and asked inappropriate questions about my personal circumstances. They collected a lot of information about past experience and skills... then offered completely irrelevant jobs in locations that were expensive or impossible for me to reach!

I was patronised in my first role, which entailed sorting paper files to ensure the information was up to date ("data cleansing"). Then I had the joy of sitting at a vacant reception desk, not being briefed about what to say to people on the phone or in person. I asked the consultant for something more suitable to my background and was taken off the job. They then called several times a day with possible positions, then never got back to me to indicate if it was a goer or not. So rude!

MissK.

Terrible

I would not recommend Katie Bard to anyone, I am in the process of changing career paths to become a PA I e-mailed 3 different staff members at the agency and made 1 phone call I did not receive a response back! Clearly they looked at my CV and made the assumption that I wanted to continue being a fee-earner and could not be bothered to respond! Shows the lack of professionalism and greed, only willing to help people who they can place in an instant. Staff need training or to change career paths. Anyone looking try Brook Street - excellent.

No Contact Waste Of Time!

I submitted my cv for a job I really was interested in. The email that came back stated it may take us a couple of days to get back to you which I thought fair enough. But after over a week of no contact I got suspicious. When I read reviews on here I realised it's just a ploy to get details. I can imagine they build a database and sell it. I will be contacting indeed.co.uk to tell them how awful they are hopefully no one else has to waste their time!

Waste Of Time

Very shocked! Consultants appear to be very enthusiastic at the beginning during the registration process. However they take 2 hours to interview with irrelevant questions. Very appalled by the lack of communication, given the most random temp roles opposite to my preferences which were addressed at the beginning. Furthermore, as I was hesitant to take on a role which I did not appear to like the sound of, I was then told in to come in and have a 'catch-up' with one of the inexperienced consultants. This is very very inconvenient for me having to pay excessive traveling as an unemployed individual, why have a 'catch-up' when this can be done over the phone?

Also very appalled at the amount of misleading advertising on external sites such as Reed.co.uk, the agency advertises one role and get you to come in, and then DO NOT appear to acknowledge the role that was initially applied for!

I certainly DO NOT recommend this agency to anyone.

Absolutely Shocking

Katie Bard fabricate jobs, lie in job descriptions and post multiple adverts for one role creating the illusion that they have many varied and exciting roles available.

In order to be put forward for any role, you need to be interviewed by one of their consultants, which I believe is pretty standard these days. However, during my interview my skills, interests and experience were disregarded and I had my personal life picked apart bit by bit. The consultant even made a note on my CV that I was introverted at school and put a sad face next to it as though it was a bad thing! I left the interview feeling hopeless.

Weeks later after signing up and asking to be put forward for various roles, I've been told that if something pops up, they'll be in touch and they don't want me being proactive in my search for a new job. Despite having ample experience in my field and being the ideal candidate for similar roles to what I'm doing now, I've heard absolutely nothing. I'm expected to trust KB to search for a suitable job on my behalf after being berated, put down and told to let them get on. I think I've got a better chance of winning the lottery whilst riding a unicorn through Neverland than finding a role through KB.

Angry

I met with KB in he Birmingham branch about a role , they seemed very enthusiastic to register me.

They barely spoke with me but once I got an interview they were almost harassing me and flooding my inbox.

At this point alarms bells were going , I had been told that I was the only candidate from katie baird going for the role but discovered that their had been some sort of conveyer belt of people going for this job who had failed within the last week.

KB explained where the others had gone wrong and gave me in theory everything I need to know.

I went for the interview and got told I had a second interview by the company.

I told KB who then wanted to sort things and took all the information from me and chased the company for feedback.

I then found out almost a week later that the company had decided not to give me a second interview.

I was naturally disappointed but I was more disappointed when KB seemed to take little interest in me now and promised to call me back.

I suspect my feedback will be now used by KB to further KB's chances of getting he role.

Stay away from this company, constant apologies and lies.

Judging but the reviews on here it may as well be a boiler room.

What most probably happened is that KB asked the company for a finders fee and the company did not want to pay it. Always get feedback from the company yourself - a lot of companies are quite happy to give feedback, most recruitment companies don't actually want to put you in a permanent position as it will make them very little money. They want to recruit and sign you onto their books because 1 - they will get commission for it, and 2 - they will constantly bug you with temp and contract jobs which will make them a tidy sum whilst you will see very little in return.
