A chap cold called me and when I politely tried explaining we would not like to use their services, hung up the phone.

Incredibly rude and unprofessional.

I got a call from one of the staff here having applied for a job but he pretended not to know anything about the job, just said I found your CV online, are you looking for work?

He asked me if I had interviews elsewhere and asked for specifics. He then said he had the perfect role for me and he will e-mail me the details, nothing, called next day to see if he had the right e-mail address he did and he re-sent apparently but I didn't receive it again.

When I called later he pretended to be someone else!! Said the guy I was looking for was out, so I e-mailed him and nothing. I'm certain he never sent those e-mails, don't understand this behaviour at all

Weird company, weird experience especially considering he contacted me in the first place!! Clearly was just fishing for info, playing silly games....I would avoid them at all cost in the future, clearly too big for their boots, completely unprofessional behaviour.

It could be a problem with that particular staff member and not the company as a whole but he is representing them.

It has always been a pleasure working at Gold Group. I am provided with the training I need to exceed all expectations. I am also receiving regular feedback of what I could be doing better and what I am currently doing well.

I applied for a contract role posted on Jobserve on May 9 by Gold Group. Although I was unable to talk to him directly, I was given his email address to which I sent my CV with a request to confirm receipt. After three days I still did not have a confirmation wether my CV has been received or not.

I called in and was told he was not available to speak to everyone for the rest of the week because he got 500 CVs to go through. Still at the end of business of May 17 there is no confirmation either way. I called in and was told in no uncertain terms that they do not ever wish to be called, but one should just wait and if one doesn't hear anything, then that's it.

This is entirely unprofessional and unacceptable to me. The money that I pay to agencies when I work should be sufficient to pay for staff to help out at times when workload is overwhelming. It is definitely not unreasonable to expect the courtesy of being told whether one's CV has been received. It is also not unreasonable to expect to eventually receive a mail notification when one has been unsuccessful.

The attitude of the staff I spoke to on the telephone also left a lot to be desired. They make it clear in no uncertain terms that they believe themselves to be better than the applicants. They make you feel as if you are asking for handouts like a beggar on the street.

I will not reply to any job ads by this agency again and cannot recommend this company to anyone else.
