Don't get me wrong, I spoke to a lovely guy for about an hour whilst I was walking in the pouring rain one day - he told me I'd applied for a job with his agency which I had no idea about, but I was job hunting so I didn't make a fuss. He had my old CV which I thought was a bit weird considering for the past month I'd been applying with a new one. He asked me questions to build up my CV, and then he started telling me a job description of a job before telling me which one it was. It seemed very rehearsed and I've worked for a call centre before so I know a lot of it is scripted.

I said I'd be interested for an interview and thought that would be it. I got told to mystery shop the place, and ring them and then let him know what I think which I did do. I also felt like I was getting the guy I mystery shopped into trouble.

I then had to schedule ANOTHER phone call for them to give me tips about my interview, at any other time I would be thankful but at this moment I'm moving house for the first time, so I'm having a very stressful week so I have missed a couple of calls. I've been honest with him, as he rang me yesterday morning and I was cooking breakfast and said I might not be free that day but attempted to make a date with him, then at the point he rang me I was in a busy town and text him saying "I am very busy and can understand if you want to cancel my interview which I will attend but I just can't give you a specific time when I'll be free for you to coach me." I heard nothing back for over 24 hours then got given an email about my interview being cancelled. I felt like this was very petty, as he had spent days contacted me several times a day. I feel like I am now not able to apply for a job just purely because I haven't got time to sit and talk to him on the phone.

I won't be using a recrument agency again.

I have just checked my inbox at 20.05 on a Saturday night and noticed I had recieved an email from Detail 2 Retail at 18.42.

The email was an automated message to make me aware I had been unsuccessful with an application I had recently completed the night before which was submitted around 7pm.

Detail 2 Retail are not open on Saturday's. I checked their opening times by calling them and they are open from 8.45 to 5.30 Monday to Friday.

How can my application have been assessed if they are not open?

After this experience I will never apply for vacancies through Detail 2 Retail again even if they call me!
