Thought this was a reputable agency in public sector. THEY ARE NOT. All they care about is pleasing their clients not their candidates. They left me unemployed having put trust into me that the client will take me on. Horrible experience. Will never use this agency again.

I have worked with several agencies in the past and have to say that Allen Lane are the worst I have come across. They had an inexperienced recruiter who didn't understand what they were talking about, did not understand what I did, did not understand the job they were recruiting and misled me. I managed to get the job anyway but they were inefficient in paying me and only contacted me twice during the contract and did not really care what I said. I have now moved to a new job through a far more professional agency. Definately do not recommend Allen Lane.

This agency is, as the other reviewer has stated, absolutely awful. They have no care in the world for their temps and treat you with disdain and no respect. I used to contract with this agency and I was forced to pay tax on the agency commission and when I challenged this they got aggressive on the phone and told me it was "the law". They also make you pay employers national insurance and absolve themselves of all responsibility because they ask a 3rd party agency to do a payroll so legally they are absolved of any responsibility. I called HMRC and they agreed this was dodgy but was common practice amongst a lot of unscrupulous, ruthless agencies.

I would not go near this agency near a bargepole. I advise you to avoid this agency at all costs too. If you are a company looking to take this agency on for your staffing needs, please please please can you stay away from them.

This recruitment agency is not to be trusted, they behave very unprofessionally, and certainly not in your best interest at all. I worked through them for over one year.

They behave very unscrupulously with no regard for you as the candidate to act in your best interest. They are arrogant and their unprofessionalism is astounding, and they have no hesitation in treating you badly. "CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!!"

I would recommend you avoid this agency at all costs, or you may find out later why yourself.

Despite doing an excellent job for a long period, my contract was terminated with the client and later with them (the agency) without anyone speaking to me first. I was given nil notice, and learned I was being retrospectively terminated as of the prior Friday unbeknown to me for a whole week!

Written quote from one the director towards candidate working for them:

"I'm having to get heavy with her".

My strong advice to any prospective candidate is DO NOT use this agency, find a better one, there are several out there who act 100% professionally towards both the candidate and client, this is certainly not one of them.

I found out later from colleagues that soon after I had been replaced by a new permanent employee recruited through the same agency.
