Buyer

A fantastic, very rewarding career for those determined enough to make it. There are no average days and the term 'Buyer' can relate to different specialisms depending on the industry and size of the company. A classic buyer will source new products and ranges, analyse the success of the existing ranges, extend or relaunch them, price, 'mystery shopper' their own and competitors stores / catalogues.

It is nearly impossible to go straight into retail buying, most Buyers cut their teeth in mail order. Many others have previously been involved elsewhere in Supply Chain.
