Air Traffic Control. I Love My Job! When Everythin
Air Traffic Control. I love my job! When everything is going according to plan its the easiest job in the world! Unfortunately by the jobs very nature that wont happen very much. But thats why the pay is pretty good. If you can multitask effectively, plan ahead (and remember what they say about best laid plans), and crucially...prioritise then this job is for you.
You will have to work hard and under pressure depending upon traffic levels, but experience will improve your capacity greatly once you start building it. No getting away from the hard work though.
The training is very hard and requires commitment. Not many who get selected to become a student will make it all of the way. If you do you'll find that the experience and training will have prepared you well and satisfying once take those training wheels off.
You get a fair amount of time off, decent pay and no paperwork to take home so your free time is your free time. Be prepared to work wherever you're needed and could mean a job anywhere in the country. Depending on your employer you're unlikely to get a choice.
Depending On How Busy The Facility Is, You Can Get
Depending on how busy the facility is, you can get burned out pretty fast. A lot of stress and responsibility.
Not for the faint of heart. Need to be carefree and able to multi task and like to work with stress.
If You Can Handle Responsibility, Can Think Three
If you can handle responsibility, can think three dimensionally and can keep your cool under high workloads then, in my opinion, this is a fantastic job.
