My purchase of a flat in sheltered accommodation for my mother took 3 months to reach exchange. There were no mortgages involved, no chains on either side and the purchases price was less than one might pay for a fancy car. It should have been a 3 week job. The root cause of the problem was that Legal Move did not read the estate agent's sale memorandum until shortly before we had planned to complete. They then realised that the flat was shared ownership and we had to start over. They then did not scale the enquiries to be proportionate to the size and circumstances of the flat, resulting in a long list that would never get an answer.

We ended up having to twice postpone the move, causing distress and confusion to my elderly mother.

I suspect that part of the problem was that we were trying to move during the summer, when many of the F&P staff were on holiday or working part time.

Found F & P through Google, got an immediate online quote (fixed price), for about half the (unfixed) price quoted by local solicitors - who warned me that online conveyancers would load the cost later with extras. Had some misgivings about using an on-line firm, but these proved unfounded - the transaction was carried out efficiently and effectively, for the price quoted. I was kept informed at all stages. Overall totally satisfied and would recommend and use again.

On the whole very efficient and happy to help. We had one problem which was the confusion about monies received for our purchase, which should have been easily sorted out but seemed to leave them confused, and they asked us to sort it out. Apart from that everything was fine.

Effectively executed the legal papers for my move. They don't really provide advice, but cost about half as much as using a legal executive in a traditional solicitors, where you also will not get much advice. Turnaround was fast and their website allows you to track whats going on. One weakness is that traditional firms hate this kind of operation, which reduces margins for them. Our buyer's conveyancers refused to communicate by email, which everything slower than it needed to be.

Overall, very good, hassle-free and some nice personal touches. Quick responses to my emails. I never needed to phone. Issues were minor ones - e.g. I was writing notes from the search documents they made available online.... but didn't need to because they send out hard copies by post before Exchange takes place.

Excellent service from beginning to end. Good advice given in order for a sale to proceed smoothly.

Paperwork handled very well and I was kept informed the whole way through the process. Exchange and completion reached to my satisfaction.

I was buying and selling houses. Everyone was really helpful and totally efficient. When the named person was away they always put me onto their deputy who WAS there. It was all first name terms. None of that stuffy solicitor speak. Everyone in the office seemed to know each other so they could be helpful- as I was buying as well as selling which was 2 different departments. They did everything really quickly and backed it up with emails. We had a bit of a laugh sometimes. They were also pretty reasonably priced. I did worry at first not being able to drop in on the office in person but because I always got to talk to a real person when I rang up and they returned calls quickly this didn't bother me. They acted like human beings at all times and I never got any of that 'phone/computer speak' nonsense. Very down to earth.It was a pretty enjoyable and stress free experience which is saying something for house buying!!

We eventually bought a property in July of this year after a collapsed sale a year to the day previously. The assistance and extremely supportive manner of the conveyancer - Teresa - who helped us through both the protracted sale and the rather quick purchase cannot be understated.

Simply put, we don't know how we would have got through it without her!

Couple this excellent experience with a very reasonable cost for the services provided and we can say that we are very happy customers who would recommend to everyone, and we have already. :)
