Buying a new home, I got a written estimate for completing the purchase for me from Beckley Kenny & Co for £750.00.

The purchase was not straight forward, but not helped by unclear advice, along with asking me to continue without the registration of the septic tank, being unable to read simple plans showing the drive etc

The funds for the property purchase were transferred as requested, but the purchase did not complete on the date agreed.

However sometime later I was informed that Beckley Kenny would need to charge me more due to the extra work, as I was not happy with the service I immediately asked them not to do any more work and return my funds held in the client account.

This was the first mention that the charge would be any more than the amount quoted of £750.00.

They returned the funds, less nearly £7000.00, followed by a bill for that amount.

I then had to instruct another solicitor who had to start all over again, who then completed the purchase for me for a figure close to the original estimate under £1000.00 I had been given a quote for the work By Beckley Kenny of £750.00 so how can they then charge so much more without any warning.

The property purchase cost me many thousand pounds more than it should have done leaving me seriously out of pocket.

If you are seeking a solicitor/agent think carefully before using this company after my terrible experience with them.
