Rated 1 out of 5 stars My daughters brought me a quingo… My daughters brought me a quingo scooter in 2021 as I had covid an seizures due to covid and cannot walk without assistance, hoped it would give me some freedom but far from it. Driving around on it if you go over a bump it cuts out then you have to reset the batteries which are under the seat which I cannot do myself as I can not stand without help so if I go out on it I must have someone with me, which defeats the object. I tried to go to the doctors on it only got half way there when I had to turn round because I only had half the power left in the scooter and only just got home. I hadn’t gone a mile and the scooter is supposed to do 23 miles. We have rang the company who are very rude and they won’t take the scooter in part exchange but will send out someone to look at it but that’s £74. I have also had to pay over £300 for new batteries. I will never recommend these scooters to any that scooter cost my daughters £2000 and it’s not fit for purpose.

SHOCKING 'AFTERCARE' DON'T BOTHER. I have a Quingo Flyte with ramps. I wasn't allowed to go to the warehouse and try one out before I bought it, but managed to try someone else's. The scooter is great. My problem is with the ramps, which are not actually fit for purpose. These are the mark 2 ramps. I bought the scooter in Aug 2021. In September, I called them out, as the ramps were extremely stiff to pull out, but if you did pull them hard enough, they simply came out of their housing altogether, as the retaining buttons didn't pop out to locate in the stop position. Workmen were sent out, but I was made to feel it was my fault they weren't working, and they were doing me a favour by replacing part of the ramp. They've still never worked really well. They got so stiff again, I called Quingo. The extremely rude lady who answers the phone told me they'd charge £74 call out, plus any parts and labour charge. I hadn't even had the scooter a year then, and it was supposed to have had a year warranty. I refused to pay, but sent an email as they tell you to in answer to a lot of the negative comments. I had a phone call a few days later, some lady (not the rude one) telling me 'the manager' would call me back the next day. No call ever came, that was a fortnight ago. I've given up now. My partner has done what he can to free the ramps up, as I broke a bone in my back 4 weeks ago, and it's imperative I have the ramps working in order to use my scooter for the numerous hospital/gp appointments/scans and physio I'm having to attend as a result of my injury. They're more than happy to take your money, but THE AFTERCARE IS NON EXISTENT. Don't bother using these people. The stress and grief just isn't worth it

Unfortunately my father passed away after using his scooter only once , he paid out over £5500 for the flyte and docking station but it looks like I’ll have to scrap it , nobody will take it from me in fact all the companies I have contacted tell me they won’t touch Quingos due to the cost of repairs .. Wish my dad had done some research before parting with his hard earned cash .. Also don’t expect any help from Quingo customer service , the lady we spoke to was quite rude and extremely unhelpful.

My very old scooter died and a good friend gave me his quingo toura 2 which had done 117 miles but he could no longer use the scooter and I soon found out why the scooter was incredibly hard to steer but I used the scooter for a few mths then after I had got the milage up to ,229 the quingo broke down I had a service engineer from guingo out and his verdict was the control box amongst other things had failed the total in parts would be over £1100 plus the £83 call out .As they only sell for around £500 on eBay I passed on this and sold the scooter for parts to cover the call out fee. After my experience using this scooter I can't recommend this to anyone I bought a used midi and have done over a1000 miles far more comfortable and better to use

Had to complain so many times about service. Rude, ineffective, several failures. No apologies. Instead they either extremely rude or assure you it is dealt with but it isn't. AVOID.

I had to think long and hard before writing this review as I don’t like to give anyone any bad feedback, but the customer service team and the Main Manager Spoke to myself and another family member with no compassion after telling them we had lost our Uncle 1 month after purchasing the Quingo Scooter, we respect they can’t take the scooter back, but some advice and help was all we asked for, to be shouted at over the phone and not been able to have a word in edgeways Was very difficult for us after losing our Uncle, I hope one day your never in our shoes and you have to encounter such awful customer service, I would never advise anyone to buy a Quingo as no other scooter company has any good feedback relating to these products, no one will buy the scooter and we paid over £5000 as he had all the added extras to go with it, now we are trying to get at least £1000 to help with funds for the funeral, moral of this story is don’t touch a Quingo scooter and I hope someone will send the whole team to learn Customer Service skills. You have let your company down and the family of our Uncle. Disgusting behaviour. Also for anyone who does but this product be warned you won’t be able to sell it on.

My dear nan purchased her scooter for £3864..she very sadly passed away last month.. My nan had the scooter for 18 months. It still has 2 year warranty.. We have tried to sell the scooter to help fund her funeral, she has no money because she invested it in this scooter of which she desperately needed. I contacted many mobility scooter companies to try and sell the scooter, I was kindly advised they no one wants to buy quingo scooters and I would be lucky to get £100 for it.. I contacted quingo and explained what I was told. The staff were so rude and told me they do not buy back scooters even though they advertise selling second hand scooters on there web site.. Very unhelpful very rude. There is no one who wants to purchased a quingo scooter.. I am very distressed so we have a scooter that was brought for £3864..that is pretty much un saleable, I don't have the time to wait for a private buyer...I need to raise funds to pay for her funeral.. Quingo were very unhelpful showed no compassion for our loss.. No company out side of quingo will buy or even entertain these scooters...as I said quingo advertise second hand scooters, but don't want to buy them back ???.... All they want is to take thousands of pounds off you and offer no help in reselling there products...knowing that no one will buy a quingo scooter... Extremely upset with this company...DO NOT BUY A Quingo scooter.. I was told to try and sell it privately,

Hi As discussed on the phone call we had other scooter companies will obviously not be interested in buying a Quingo scooter !, the don't have the training or in-depth knowledge of our products and secondly they are in the market of selling scooters and want to sell you a new scooter although you are not in the market so they could say anything, you are correct we do sell reconditioned scooters on our website these are scooters that have been fully reconditioned after the contract hire period they have been leased out on then sold whilst on contract hire the scooters have been serviced and maintained to the highest standards so we are aware of the scooters condition.
As a company we did advise you how to sell the scooter however you did not have the time I do understand this and must on behalf of the company send our sincere condolences to you and your family for your loss, in speaking with you on the phone you expressed that your Nan had used the scooter and it had been a great asset in her latter years so I do feel as though this review is a little unfair given that a scooter review should be about the scooter and not the fact that we couldn't help in the repurchase of your Nan's scooter I would advise that you don't sell it for £100 though.

My wife has a problem with her scooter charger. I called Quingo, they said that they couldn't visit us for 7 days. Then they told me that they will charge £74 for the call out even though the scooter is under warranty. Do not buy a Quingo scooter because they will let you down.
Written on: 16/12/2019
Hi, yes we do advise of a charge for a call out fee of £74, however this is just to advise should it not be a warranty repair there are cost's involved and we wouldn't like to embarrass you or you feel as though we are pressurising you for the money should an engineer be with you. if you would like to contact me we can discuss this further

I purchased my Quingo Air 2 (secondhand) after having tried 7 other different types of folding scooters. Quingo won on the grounds of its stability and ability to overcome the uneven and damaged pavements in my local area without throwing me off or toppling over, also it could take my weight and I can walk at a trotting pace 2 of my large dogs who, as they are hounds, have the tendancy to want to chase anything that moves (like the local cat) but the Quingo with its automatic brakes and 5 wheels holds firm when my hounds try to chase things... My only grumble is that it really needs a more powerful motor as the 12v 15amp pair of batteries struggle and fade very quickly when trying to cope with me a large person and cold weather, thank goodness for the dogs they made great "huskies" for the last lap up the slope home. Having the ability to put the extra battery box on with the 2 back up batteries does help BUT does not solve the fading slowness of the motor now having an extra 20lbs + of weight to propell along, afterall Quingo DO SAY that it can cope with a 21 stone person, I am not quite that heavy but it struggled with 16stone. I had reason to contact Quingo directly and found them very helpful and they were able to provide me with the spare part that I needed and gave me some helpful general advise.. Overall the Quingo Air 2 is a good folding scooter but is under powered for the weight it is listed of being capable of carrying... needs more oomph!

Looking to purchase a mobility scooter from this company, arranged for a home visit demonstration on the 19th of Feb 2018 and they failed to turn up due to their van breaking down. Arranged for another home visit for the 23rd and yet again they failed to turn up with an excuse that their driver did not turn up for work. I am not impressed with this company at all.

I bought a reconditioned quingo classic for £2000, following a convincing demo and sales porch by the salesman who gave me the impression that I was buying the market leader brand by some distance. Nothing could be further from the truth. The customer care has been abysmal. On the 2 occasions I have needed repairs, quingo have taken over 4 weeks to send out an engineer. Despite having paid for triple star and roadside recovery insurances in addition, I was charged £72.85 for a new inner tube to repair a puncture. I then paid £206.59 for 3solid tyres, so punctures will no longer be an issue. The engineer told me 2 weeks. It is now 5 weeks and I am still waiting for the job to be done, despite me having to ring them last week to chase up. All they could say was that the paperwork may have been misplaced. At no time have they contacted me with any information. I am very disappointed and regret buying a quingo.

I would not recommend Quango to anyone. It has taken me months to decide to have a mobility scooter and I had a letter from them so I thought I would give them a try. They arranged to come out and give me a demonstration, after waiting in they never showed, no telephone call or anything. When I contacted them they said my appointment had been double booked!! They then arranged to come out the following day at 10am. I got a telephone call just after the arrangement to ask of they could rearrange for the afternoon, when I said I couldn't they were quite abrupt. Anyway after waiting in again the following day again no one showed up!! When I Co tasted them the excuse was that the demonstrator had broken down and could I arrange for the following week!! I asked to speak with a manager who unfortunately was away from his desk!! Disgusting customer service from start to finish!!

I recently joined Quingo and lasted just under 3 months. I'm not surprised at your comment as the appointment system is so in efficient. When you leave a client at 1:15 p m and your 2:00 appointment is around 100 miles away!... That's just one example!! Not impressed.

I care full-time for my father who has COPD and severe arthritis, and my brother and I thought it would be good to get him a scooter to get him out a bit more. He hates being pushed around in a wheelchair and as he needs to have his legs stretched out when he sits down, it's also uncomfortable for him. The Quingo was attractive for it's adaptability, but ask for a brochure and this company will continue to call you until you block them. Sometimes more than once a day. We were looking at other scooters and wanted to go through the literature at our own pace, consult with other family members and arrange who was going to contribute to paying for it. Yet after being phoned too many times to count, we won't be going with a Quingo. If they are this insistent after us asking for a brochure, we're certainly not going to have a demonstration. This company pressures you from the start and we'd rather choose at our own pace.

Recently bought a Quingo Powerbase Wheelchair and am not happy with it as it keeps cutting out on me. Has done this four times so once in the middle of road in a busy traffic area as well. Have been told a refund will now take weeks to even process. They were quick enough to want the money when I bought it but not so quick in returning it. The salesman that came out originally misled me about what the chair could do, all he wanted was his commission. He didn't even bring a test model with him so I really didn't know what I was buying at all. He gets you to sign paperwork though saying that you have seen a test model and are happy to proceed with the sale. Would have been a lovely wheelchair if it did what the Salesman had claimed it could. The chair itself couldn't even climb a standard drop kerb which is a must from any powered wheel chair. I would really recommend you shop around before buying or leasing one of these chairs from Quingo.

They are very lax when it comes to the power base. I had a client who was interested in it and I was honest that I'd never seen one and couldn't tell her anything about it. I reappointed the call and arranged to get one because I wouldn't sell the product unless the client had tried it!

The scooter was adapted to my requirements which made it ideal for me other scooters l tried were unsuitable due to my disability. When l purchased the scooter staff couldn't have been more helpful. For me the thing that lets it down is the reliability and the servicing. Every year the service is booked then a phone call to say they can't come and have to re arrange some times more than once. I also find the scooter is unreliable breaks down every year without fail sometimes more than once. Just thankful that l don't need it all the time and also have a wheelchair which at least is reliable. Am l just unlucky with this scooter or do other people have the same problems.

I have had my quingo a week and was out practicing as I have a tendency to press the acceleratop when i grip the handels to make a turn. I missjudged the turn onto a path and ended up tipping the buggy over backwards. THANK HEAVEN FOR THE BACK JOCKY WHEELS they stopped the buggy going over compleatly and landing on top of me. I would recomend Quingo to anyone they are a lot safer than 4 wheels. My friend did the same thing with her own 4 wheel scooter and ended up with a month in hospital as her's went over on top of her, mine with the help of the padded seat just left me with 3 cracked rib's. There is NO WAY ANY FAULT ON QUINGO it was my mistake and when I phoned to ask them to come and check scooter over they were very helpfull, when my rib's have healed they are going to give me more driveing lessons. I am very happy with Quingo and would never blame them for my stupidity. It is a quingo air 2

I purchased a Quingo Air 2 mobility scooter in January this year for my husband who had suffered a stroke. As it dismantled for travelling I though this would be great for getting him out and about. Unfortunately on our first trip up to the Newsagent, it just broke down. I had to leave my husband sitting there by the side of the road and walk half mile back home to get the car to go back to pick him up. If that wasn`t enough I couldn`t get the main body of the scooter off and struggled to lift the whole heaviest part up into the car. It`s a quiet road and there was no one around that I could ask for help. I managed eventually ,almost straining my back in the process. I rang Quingo and an engineer arrived a few days later with a replacement scooter... But problems again it wouldn`t come apart. Even the engineer struggled, so that went back as well. A week later yet another Quingo air 2 scooter arrived. Apparently there had been a batch that would not come apart. Anyway I thought third time lucky! Hopefully. But my hopes were short lived.. Yet again, on it`s second trip, the scooter broke down. Only this time we were down a quiet country lane, not far from home but far enough for me to, yet again, walk back and get the car. I was reluctant to leave my husband there alone in his compromised state, unable to walk, and in a lonely quiet road. My husband was really stressed, which can be seriously detrimental to his health so soon after suffering a stroke. I had to call our son to come and pick us up. A Quingo engineer is coming tomorrow, but even if he fixes this one I have lost confidence now in being able to go anywhere with out the fear that it will break down again and leave us stranded maybe further from home next time. What I though would give my husband a bit of happiness and independence has instead left us feeling utterly frustrated and disappointed.

too true! If you find a fault, don't bother having it repaired as they will take you to the cleaners with horrendous charges. No other repairers will touch them, and the only option is to throw them over a cliff and filming it to post on youtube and twitter with an appropriate warning to avoid them at all cost
