“Appalling conversion to Nectar points”

On many occasions we accumulate points for a goal, a target, and in the case of Nectar getting a time sensitive deal that, together with the points, will help us reach that goal which otherwise we may not be able to reach. If this is the case with you, I’ll save you some anger and frustration by telling you the conversion from Avios to Nectar isn’t for you. Forget it: despite there being numerous ways to apply security to online transactions, In the case of Avios->Nectar it’s not worth the hassle, as it takes a WHOLE 10 DAYS for the transaction to take place. The reason given is security but such a timescale feels more like the delays that banks apply to transactions in order to make money on interest by holding to your cash longer than it’s needed. 10 days, incredible…
