This item wont post the reason given is that i used the letters i and t together so i have to that tiny word out Iv been disabled since 1988 and always had a blue badge until i moved to Poole in Dorset,i went to apply on line only to be met with a survey as to my ethnicity,black,brown Asian ect where was i born , then they had a survey as my sexuality ,gay man , lesbian as with the ethnicity questions the list was long,so i decided to apply by phone , well i got the forms but high volume of private,personal and medical required was to much for me ,so i decided to apply for my bus pass = same story again , seemed that unless i give the council all of the information required i was not going to get either blue badge or bus pass, then i decided to make a complaint of discrimination ,i got the usual emails of offers to help and they promised that some one from a relevant dept would be writing to me ,that did not happen because when i realized that i was not going to get anywhere i replied to an email they sent me saying that was going to write to some disabled orgs about this ,bang the shutters went down and i have not heard from them since despite the rules that state that they have to keep me informed about my complaint. I had found out that some councils were under investigation for selling off the publics private information ,one council that got caught doing just that got a slap on the wrist and a fine , is kept pretty quiet , Councils are justiyfing there requests for you private ,personal and medical information on the grounds that there is fraud committed with blue badges ,quite why they are applying the same rules for a bus pass seems questionable. Poole council have accelerated their painting of kerbs with the 3 yellow lines to stop people from parking anywhere near them hence forcing people to use their pay to park car parks , they say they have increased dedicated disabled parking bays ,but we have been here for a long time and in the car park we use there is still only one place for disabled to park . with the councils car parking revenue schemes under the spot light it seems that any parking issue is kept low key because of the public gaze . Me even though im disabled and have a problem walking on uneven surfaces i decided that i will have to go without my blue badge or the bus pass because there are not enough disabled parking slots and to many yellow painted kerbs plus the fact that we still have to pay to use a car park anyway. The council seemed to touchy about people asking what they are doing with peoples personal ,private and medical information ,they say you are protected by the data information act but that has not stopped some councils from selling the information !
