Thistle Hotel Haydock, St Helens, Merseyside

looks great from m6 on arriving I had room 161, I sat on the bed and it felt like a wooden seat, I tried to have a cup of tea and no milk, I then had a shower and the shower didn't shower just a dribble, and then no hairdryer, which was supposed to be in the draw. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall, the pillows were rock rock hard and uncomfortable, the sheets didn't fit the bed too short, and the springs in the mattress were sticking through the bed.so I thought no way am I eating here! It seemed like a hotel in dire straits, no way would I stay there again and it's not 4 star more 2 star , wondered why on earth this has a 8.1 rating on booking .com obviously not a lot of high expectations on people booking this web site shan't use it again.
