The Saunton Sands Hotel, Devon

The wedding organisers at the Saunton Sands Hotel repeatedly failed to return my sister's (the bride) phone calls, letters and emails. (So she ended up feeling very stressed out and frustrated. They spelt her first name wrong on correspondence and then eventually on the day itself spelt her surname wrong on the main welcome sign! (It's not a complicated surname). The wedding breakfast that was served was not what my sister had ordered and they seemed in a mad rush to clear all the dishes away asap, so that my husband ended up not getting to eat his pudding (as he was looking after our busy toddler) and it was taken away. We stayed in a self-contained flat that I found to be over-priced and didn't even include room service so that dirty nappies were filling the bins AND we were expected to leave the kitchen clean and tidy - hey it's a hotel, we're paying hotel prices AND we're expected to clean up!

I was a bridesmaid and I couldn't manage to make an appointment with the hair salon despite leaving three messages - one with reception and two on a machine. I still did not receive a call back.In my opinion it is vastly overpriced and it appears we just paid for the venue and nothing else really.
