The owner of this home-run business was wonderfully helpful and tried to find me the perfect dress from her collection of around 1000. Oh yes.

Simply every possible design, size, design and decorated dress exists in this collection; if you are looking for something unique, and with its own history, this is utter heaven. Petticoats are piled on tables like Degas ballerinas, corsets dating from the American Civil War are stacked in wicker baskets and Dietrich style marabou wraps float over the piles, racks and rails of dresses.

Upon arrival, Francesca takes one look and gets you started trying on dresses for size and style. She works constantly to find 'the one' from amongst her collection, and encourages you to be brave with your choices, just in case an unanticipated design really suits you.

I can't imagine anyone who goes here wouldn't want to delve in the downstairs collection of evening wear as well.

It's important to note that not all of these dresses are top quality, or absolutely perfect - but some are. There is something for everyone here.

I think that this resource for 'vintage' or 'retro' dresses is an unsung gem. Get yourselves to the West Country!
