My experience mirrors others who have reviewed Melanie on this site. Melanie understood my vision from the beginning and was the only designer that I met that drew my dress in front of my eyes, and it was exactly how I'd imagined it.

Melanie is a perfectionist and the dress that she produced was absolutely stunning, full of detail, gorgeous materials (so many wedding dresses aren't actually made of quality materials) and the fit was perfect yet it was so comfortable to wear. Melanie's specialism is corsetry and I can honestly say that I was so impressed with how my dress supported me. Every fitting was such fun and Melanie is a lovely person to be in the company of.

I loved every minute of having my dress designed and made by Melanie and wearing it on the day was the icing on the cake! Highly recommend!

I first saw a Melanie Potro wedding dress in a shop window in Clerkenwell some 5 years ago. 4 years later I got engaged and got in touch with Melanie to design my dream dress. The whole experience was so much more than just having a dress designed and made, it was enjoyable and something to look forward to.

Melanie was friendly, accommodating, professional and very skilled in dress making , in particular with corsetry. Melanie managed to replicate exactly what I had in mind for my dress and brought it to life. My mother also had her mother-of-the-bride outfit designed and made by Melanie, which carried out with equal care and attention. It made the whole experience really special.

Each fitting was carried out with incredible precision and every detail was explored until I was completely satisfied with the end result. When completed, my dress was everything I imagined and I felt fantastic in it on the day.

Melanie was fantastic throughout the whole design and production process for my wedding dress. She was incredibly patient, very honest about both the artistic and practical elements of the process, and quick to take on board my thoughts and ideas. The dress that she created for me was elegant and beautiful --- and exactly what I had in mind. She is also excellent at the technicalities of her craft. My dress fitted beautifully and stayed that way all day. All in all, I am delighted that Melanie looked after my wedding dress --- being such a big part of the big day, she ensured that the experience and memories that the dress brought me were perfect.

Melanie was very professional and friendly, and understood very well what I wanted in a dress. I had regular fittings, so it was exciting to see the dress take shape.

It feel much more special to be able to chose my own style of dress, than buying off the peg. My dress was just what I wanted, and fitted perfectly. I had so many compliments from guests at my wedding.

My top tip for brides thinking about having their dress made is to remember that if you have a train, you will need to be able to hitch it up in the evening. My train was only small, but I omitted to ask for the flexibility of tucking it away, and did spend a lot of the day holding it up!

I have always had difficulty finding clothes that fit really well. I looked in various bridal shops and would like part of dresses only! I visited a number of dressmakers before finding Melanie on the internet. I went to visit her on a Saturday morning and new instantly that I wanted her to make my dress. I could tell that she understood what I was seeking (even though I did not have a complete plan in my head at that time) and she had great suggestions which she could show me (she also has her own range which is great to try on to get some ideas).

Melanie had meticulous attention to detail in designing and making the dress. Her lovely studio in a quiet part of London was also a bonus. The Canon at the wedding commented that it was the best wedding dress he had seen in many, many years! Moreover, I felt extremely comfortable in my dress, which is definitely a rarity with clothes and I! I would recommend Melanie to make this part of your wedding stress free. A bespoke dress is something really special.
