Grace & Lace Colchester

Staff friendly and helpful...lovely dresses. Daughter was very pleased. Would recommend.

I viewed many dresses in three different shops and out of all of them grace and lace stood out miles above the rest. The staff are all wonderful and very friendly. They really know how to make you feel special and I felt they really listened to what I was actually looking for. All dresses are extremely reasonably priced and they have such a terrific range. The staff are all very experienced and know exactly what they are talking about and know what accessories to add to make the dresses even better. I didn't feel at all pressurised to buy any dress which I found other wedding dress shops liked to do. I cannot thank grace and lace enough for their time and patience and I cannot wait to wear my beautiful dress on my wedding day.

i am only a few weeks away from my wedding and all i can say is the ladies at grace and lace colchester were the nicest, most helpful and genuine people i met in all my research for a dress. The alterations are done in house and for a flat charge. Not at all pretentious- yes the shop is a little bit worn, but you are given the time you need (and when going during the week for alterations, are normally there on your own.) After receiving lots of "false" sales styles in other shops (except hilarys though who were also helpful and friendly) it was pleasure to speak and be guided by [names removed].

They feel like aunties in how they speak to you and i cannot wait to collect my gown. They have lots of experience and it shows.

i am shocked at some of the other reviews. they are fantastic (and i found my dress in the sale - even better!).

I went into grace and lace after being told they stocked a designer of a dress I was wanted. After being given about 6 coloured discs to put on dresses I liked. I mentioned the designer they then said they only had 1dress and it was in the sale it wasn't the dress I wanted and was told if I wanted that dress I would have to travel to another grace and lace shop to try it on. They wouldn't order it for me despite me being 100% Sure that I wanted it. The sale assistance was awful and had no idea about what I wanted. Total waste of my time. Limited number of brides dresses all of which were too small for me to try on.

Being a slightly 'bigger' bride to be I was concerned about dress shopping.

Grace & Lace fitted into all of my nightmares!

1) despite having an appointment I was handed tags & told not to move dresses. No support, no 'what are you looking for?' Just left to LOOK at dresses.

2) most dresses were a size 14 and under very few bigger dresses & the ones they had were so ugly & frumpy!

3) the dresses were dirty & smelly!

4) you & other brides were trying in dresses in a smallish space.

I very politely told staff I would be leaving & not continuing with my so called appointment.

They didn't seem surprised at all!

EXCELLENT SHOP EVERYBODY IN THE SHOP WAS VERY HELPFULL AND A LOVELY COLLECTION OF DRESSES. I BROUGHT MY DRESS THERE AND ALL THE ALTERATIONS WAS DONE ON THE PREMISES SO I DIDNT HAVE TO TAKE IT TO SOMEBODY ELSE.

I have actually bought my dress from here in the end, they are so nice, friendly, and they could not have done more. Highly recommended and a nice selection of dresses too.
