Representative was so helpful in finding a dress . No pressure , no hard sell. She was helpful honest and so knowledgeable. Made to feel comfortable and given time a fantastic experience . Thank you!

My future daughter in law had booked into Emma Roy's for an hour appointment and from the moment we walked in were made very welcome and very important. The assistant asked us what we were looking for and we gave her our thoughts and straight away she went to work and brought 4 dresses for her to try on. One by one she tried them on and tried on 2 of the dresses again. Our assistant was very pleasant and helpful to us and we were not rushed in any way or told what we should be looking for at all. The dresses she brought were not what my daughter in law would have chosen for herself but the assistant was very good at her job and the dresses she brought suited her to a t. We went back on the 28th September and got the same assistant to finalise the dress that we wanted and she met us with a cuddle and again was made very welcome and relaxed. We would certainly recommend Emma Roy's to any future bride to be.

My experience at Emma Roy's bridal shop was absolutely wonderful!!! From the moment I walked thru the the door I was greeted with a smile and a warm welcome.The staff member named [name removed] was very professional,friendly and amazingly patient.I knew from that moment I would be purchasing my dress at Emma Roy's.The selection was great and the prices very affordable!I purchased my dress that day and and I know ,I made the best ever purchase of my life!Thank you [name removed]and the team at Emma Roy's.I will highly recomend your lovely shop to all of my friends and family.Well done!

Very pleased with my appointment for wedding dress trials at Emma Roy's in Edinburgh. Staff was pleasant and helpful, and genuinely interested in finding me the perfect dress. The consultant paid close attention to my requests, and pulled a number of different styles and qualities for me to try on. Patient and very friendly, I will be happy to recommend this shop to any bride-to-be!

I had a very mixed experience at Emma Roy. On the positive side, the range of wedding dresses they have in stock is unsurpassed and I can't thank the sales team enough for their help, they really were excellent.

The alterations service, on the other hand, is a completely different kettle of fish and I had a truly terrible service from them. When I arrived for the second fitting of my dress, I was horrified to find that there were several dirty marks on it! I asked for it to be cleaned and was told that this would be done but the staff were very blase and I was not convinced that they would oblige. As I was living in Liverpool at the time, I arranged for my sister to go and check the dress 2 weeks before the wedding as I wanted to make sure it had come to no further harm. When she did, she found that nothing had been done about the marks. When I rang the shop to sort the matter out, the staff could not have been more unhelpful and the head seamstress was downright rude! In the end, I had to demand to speak to the owner before it was finally agreed that they would have my dress professionally cleaned in time for my wedding 2 weeks later. When my dress was picked up 3 days before the wedding it was clean but half (literally!) of the beads which had been removed by Emma Roy for the cleaning process had not been sewn back on to the detail right on the front the dress! Fortunately I have a very talented sister who a) replaced the beads herself and b) didn't tell me about it until after the wedding.

By all means buy a wedding dress from Emma Roy, but my advice would be that if you want a stress free experience DO NOT let them alter it!

I did wonder if I had an unusually bad experience but I was prompted to write this review by a friend of mine having a similarly bad experience with them - if only she had spoken to me first!

Just wanted to say a HUUUGE thank you to every single person who works at Emma Roy from the stylist team to the seamstresses to the fabulous Lorraine!

My wedding dress was perfect, fitted me like a glove and looked great!

From the minute you walk into Emma Roy you are constantly greeted with happiness, smiles and a big warm welcome. Down in the bridal salon the stylists are just lovely, caring and want to help you, nothing is too much bother.

To all the negative reviews who think that the shop should only have YOU at a time, u need to get a grip, get over yourself and get real!! Do u really think the staff at Emma Roy have all day to focus on one bride?! So what if it's busy- it shows the sheer popularity of the place and it's not like it's not big enough.

Lorraine and her girls know what they are doing- unfortunately, some brides to be can't get over the fact that they are not the only brides in the world! You have a appointment time- stick to it. Its a BUISNESS and ER are not only open for YOU!

Walked into the shop where we were told appointment only, but we're directed to the first floor to see if any assistants were free. Luckily Nuala was free, She asked me what style I had in mind, I told her I was open minded. With that she grabbed several dresses and asked that I look through to see any liked. The first one I tried on I absolutely loved, but she asked that I try on a few more. Having seen what had suited me she mentioned there had been a delivery that morning so suggested I try on one she thought would compliment my figure. I fell in love with it straight away. She advised that the dress was for stock but if I really wanted it I could have it. She was absolutely brilliant, very good at her job, and very easy to chat to. Thank you so much for helping me find my dream dress x

All the staff were friendly and cheerful, Dorcas in the sewing room altered my wedding gown and I want to say a special thanks to her and all the Emma Roy team.

My wedding day was a wonderful experience and my dress was admired by everyone!

I would never recommend Emma Roy to any bride. I made an appt to which i was left for 30 mins (whilst staff were on lunch) thats fine i had a look through the dress while another 4 brides entered the shop with friends/family. Wedding dress shopping should be an exclusive experience, not full shop with busy staff and being left.

i called twice to ask for a dress to order in in which i received NO calls back, on my 3rd call to ask about the dress i was over quoted by £2100 ( since another shop stocks the same dress and is £2100 cheaper than what emma roy charged)

i am appauled and advise any bride NOT TO VISIT EMMA ROY
