Avoid This Place

I am so disappointed about my dealings with these guys.

They took some photos of my son: I thought it would help

him get into modelling. They said I should make a payment of £1,000 of

which I made and initial payment of £400 on the day using my card and

later paid £150.

And when I tried to cancel the contract they came out with

horrendous reasoning that I have paid for the images I have taken home

which is not true. How on earth could these images could cost £1,000?

I feel this is a misrepresentation of contract.

As of now I have lodged a complaint with the financial

ombudmans services as it seems to me I am not the only one who has been

taken in by them. This is just not acceptable they are taking hard earn

cash of honest genuine individuals, I am not sure as to why they have

been getting away with for this long. DISGUSTING !!!!!!

Please if you have face the same problem get in touch or also lodge a complain so they can be stopped.

Hi, I'd really like to get in touch with you about this. This happened to me two years ago and they genuinely FORCED me to pay £300 up front, and then really tried to push the "paying in installments" but I refused.

I want to do something about it as it is fully misrepresentation and I don't want more people to go through it!

This happened to my daughter as well. We tried to avoid paying the remaining £700 after the initial payment of £300 but they threatened all sorts of repercussions so we paid up. No offers of work so far after two years. Sorry this happened to you.

Avoid This Company

Please do not use this Company, they will tell you anything to get your money. Basically one minute you are walking in Manchester town centre the next you are being told you are going to be the 'next top model'. I very stupidly paid £600 for a portfolio with the promise that they would "market" my niece as they had all the top connections with all the top clothes shops and at fashion events. I have made over 100 phone calls and I am unable to get through to them. I am now reporting them to the Financial Ombudsman and Trading Standards & Action for Fraud. What this Company is doing is disgusting and should be stopped. I would like to hear from anybody who have experienced the same thing would like to bring a group action against these people.

Please check out Companies House. They are also known as Studio 12 Ltd. Same Company Director. This Company is dormant and has been for a while and it is now dissolved but still getting money out of people.

Big Thank You Photo Lounge

I got my portfolio though photo lounge, after some months i got my first catwalk show! I'm over the moon as i didn't expect it. I didn't feel i was good enough. But this has really given me the confidence. All thanks to my vist with yourselves. This industry is not an easy one. But without trying I would have never known. Couldn't help but feel sceptical at first. But I have been proven long. I guess we live once and got to give it a go. Thanks again to all the team who where great x

Photos Are Great

My daughter scouted at the clothes show, paid £25.00. Had the photoshoot today. Photos were great, refused to pay for the portfolio. They said that was okay and that they will still get her modelling work. Also would email a photograph to me free of charge. They said no contract had to be signed and they dont charge a fee when you get work. So I asked how would your company benefit from this and they said we get a contract from the companies for 12 months. Not expecting any work but will see what happens.

Yes the bad reviews are true. I went in September with my daughter. I didn't pay for the portfolio and was told the same-that she would get work. But 10 months later I still don't have our photo and have had no contact from them. I have given up. I've recently noticed part of the offer includes handing in the voucher which just happens to be the only thing I had saying what I had paid for.

AmyBarn23

The Photo Lounge definitely is a scam. Most of the good reviews I can guarantee are fake. Do not believe any of the positive reviews on here.

Vickygee40

Did you hear back from them at all? My daughter went about the same time and was told the same thing. We did buy the photos which is OK as I was going to do that anyway. I've tried contacting them in so many ways but they never answer the phone and are ignoring my fb messages. I was so hoping that the bad reviews weren't all true but now thinking maybe they were...

Gorgeous Shoot, But Future?

After being scouted in Manchester by a lady from The Photo Lounge, I was highly highly sceptical of what the entirety may include- so after a long chat I'd paid £25 for the photoshoot..although it was quite difficult to get a hold of them, a date was booked. All the staff are incredibly lovely and welcoming, very attentive - and considering this was my first experience doing anything like this and being slightly shy

So I had my makeup done which was stunning, lovely products used and the artist was lovely as well as my hair and proceeded to the shoot. Photographer was very easy going, had an eye for details , made me very comfortable and in the end I was shown some absolutely gorgeous shots, which I was so surprised by- I loved them all

Only issue - money.

To build a portfolio from my images was to cost something like 400£ and something like 50£ a month for a year which honestly is ridiculous and as I wanted pictures from the day I found it was possible to purchase images without creating a portfolio but their guide price per photo was 90£ ..again ridiculous

In the end, through discussions - with the staff who were honestly lovely and so accommodating, managed to take 3 photos of my choice for 75£ I believe

I was also told they would market me for free, to see if anyone would take me for work as they told me that for my first time I was a natural in front of the camera and they absolutely loved my style and the shots - this I am positively sceptical of still,as I believe that nothing will come of it

But for photos and an experience, I'd recommend the photo lounge, but I'm almost positive there would be somewhere else that could provide the same quality photos for a significant lower price and with entirely better prospects

the photolounge is not a modelling agency they claim they are when they scout you trading standards informed me of this as me and my son were ripped off by them.

Thank You Photo Lounge

Firstly iI would like to say I was dubious at first ..When my daughter decided she wanted to take part in the whole photo shoot etc . She's never been the most confident young lady & I was concerned she was going to build herself up for a fall. To my surprise it went the opposite way, she's really come out of herself since & it's made a big different in her like & social aspects. Not to mention gained independence by earning money of her own. She's really enjoying he self & im glad I deceived to support her in this.

This was the best experience. Especially because I wanted to get some modelling work. My photos were very good and so was the makeup. Thank you photo lounge for this opportunity and thank you to the lovely lady who approached me in manchester. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for modelling work

Darlene0131

Has anyone actually had paid work after visiting the photo lounge? And if so how long did it take before you got any?

2
WendyHarrison71

Hi, i was skeptical at first but my daughter has got some great work through her portfolio. I'm very happy with what they did for my daughter.

abbiejet

After the photoshoot what happens? What are the costs for photos etc. What happens if they decide to promote you?

nnenna101

Is the photo lounge an actual modelling agency or is it just to start a portfolio?

2
Bluewalrus1

They aren't a modelling agency as you aren't signed contractually to the photo lounge. They do make portfolios however I wouldn't recommend it as it costs £150 to make and £30 a month to market you. That is about the same price as all modelling e-portfolios however the photos aren't worth it
