Kilworthy Catering, Tavistock, Devon

I recently stayed at the Kilworthy Farm guest house and found it to be a brilliant experience.

The couple who live at the guest house and farm could not have worked harder to ensure my stay was welcoming and relaxing.

The farm house and out buildings are old and full of character with a rusty water wheel that has not worked in years, Stone arches under part of the building and a farm court yard with pig pens, castle sheds, sheep and barns etc. This is a fully working farm. The rear of the farm house is very pleasant and would be relaxing in the summer months with a nice glass of wine. The views from the house are outstanding.

It is true to say I have stayed in a more modern and up market buildings in the past but in terms of character Kilworthy farm wins by a mile.

The guest house was bed and breakfast only, but as I came to the building late on I was offered an evening meal for a small fee. This was reasonably priced and of very good home cooked quality. The farm reared lamb chops were the best i have ever had.

My room was very large with an on suit. The bed was large and very comfy.

Overall I would have no problem going back to this guest house in the future.
