Maverick Strada MT 1/10 RTR Electric Monster Truck

This is a great electric ready to run r/c car, good battery life on one supplied. Great for doing jumps and donuts, nice and quick really resposive cant fault it. Came supplied with Nimh car battery, battery charger and remote that just needed AA batterys. Excellent for value for money at less than £100.

Don't waste your money unless you want cheap quality truck, you'd be better off with HSP/Amex (or similar) brushless version £145 which look identical to the Strada MT. http://www.hispeedmodel.com/product.asp?bianhao=94111PRO

Parts for these are cheaper and in my opinion better quality than the Maverick(HPI) model. They also have a guard over the Pinion/Spur to stop small stones from getting in. Run on 2S Lipo it will give 30+mph 3S will give 40+mph verified with SatNav. The basic 540 motor on the Mav is under-powered for the size of truck and gives 15mph at best.

Just wish someone had told me about the Maverick Strada clones before i wasted my cash and bought one.

I have a problem with my maverick strada mt.

He iis not going at top speed, as I want that!

got one for chrstmas exallant truck the guy in the shop took off the body shell through it on the floor form 6'0 feet used it its a good trck havent run it in a few weeks due to the rain :-(

This Maverick Strada MT 1/10 RTR Electric Monster Truck is fast, durable and great value for money. I've completely upgraded mine but stock is fast. The aerial can fit through the aerial tube. You just need to leave some slack at the bottom or wind it round the top of the tube and place the cap over the wided wire. The only thing i'm looking for is some aluminium hop-ups and what turn motor it can take without overgearing or undergearing. I've put shock covers, Mtroniks RV11 ESC, Mtroniks 11x3t Modified motor, Acoms radio gear, LED lights, Carbon fibre, special decals, Heatsink with two fans for motor,etc...

It's a hell lot faster now....

Bought this Ready To Run Car for my 8 year old son having owned 1/10 electric kits myself many years ago.

This kit is strong and well engineered and fantastic value (paid £99 complete with radio from Midland Models Walsall). It's controllable enough for a beginner but fast enough to have some real fun. Being 4WD it will comfortably handle reasonable terrain without problem.

Spares are available from a number of places and it's worth knowing that this car is IDENTICAL to the HSP XSTR and also to Exceeds latest 1/10th buggy offering meaning that spares are completely interchangable.

The car is fitted with a standard RS540 type motor which has 27 turns (windings) and revs at around 18000 rpm but as a bonus the standard speed controller will actually handle motors with as few as 13 turns which rev substantially higher and will make the car a lot quicker although faster motors will result in shorter run times per charge! I was so impressed with this car that I went out and bought the HSP XSTR which is marginally cheaper. HOWEVER in hindsight I wish I'd bought another Strada! In conclusion, if you're after a cheap entry level car with plenty of options to upgrade and fairly cheap repairs then the XB Strada is for you! I would suggest that you invest in a couple of extra batteries (Component Shop have good prices) and a fast charger as the standard battery can take 6 hours using the supplied slow charger.

If for any reason "and i cant think of one" you want more from you MT ALL parts are upgradeable and sold separately great if you love tinkering for me its enough to handle FOR NOW the MT comes with, no AA batteries for controller so you will need to buy 8 of them. The Maverick Srada MT is very strong i have already had it jumping and the 8 point oil; filled suspension is a touch of genius. Out of the box the receiver aerial wire is too long for the plastic tube so UP TO YOU but i cut mine to length so the end cap could be fitted it works great. The body is made of tough plastic better than most models i have seen,comes with full decal and extra stickers to boot. Also has plastic clips to make the suspension harder they are a sinch to fit and you get more than enough.

All in all this truggy is the bees knees i may or may not let my 10 year old son have a play "NOT".lol. thanks to nitro rc its FAB. xx
