Not An Inexpensive Or Reliable Device
We bought this for our Daughter not long after they first hit the market. Despite being really careful with her toys and things, she had been through TWO leapfrog leap-pads, both which failed just out of warranty, but we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt, be third time lucky and so bought one of these leapster 2 machines anyway!
First problem we had was that it is made for right-handed children and our Daughter is left-handed, I queried this with Leap-frog and it became clear that they had NO interest in resolving our perfectly reasonable issue...they basically told us to: 'go away'!
I cobbled together a solution (securing the end of the pen cord in the battery casing which just about worked) and invested in a load of (quite expensive) cards for the console; then, when it was just out of warranty and we had spent a small fortune on it....it stopped working!
Leap frog have some serious reliability issues and their customer service is non-existent! I personally will NEVER again buy another leapfrog product, I think my Daughter's would get more educational value from stuffing ten pound notes down the local storm drain (and this would be cheaper)!

I Bought One For My Daughter For Her Birthday In N
I bought one for my daughter for her birthday in Nov 2009 and one for my son for his birthday in July 2010. My sons had to be returned because the screen went faulty after he had used it for 3 months, my daughters screen has just developed the same problem, a year after it was bought. I was very lucky to have Argos swap my sons one with no problem and Boots have just refunded me for my daughters. I'm not sure whether I'm going to replace hers. The game consoles themselves are great, and the games designed with learning in mind. Bit sad that the screen itself seems to be prone to breaking.

Rubbish product. Brought for my son's Birthday. Leapster switches it's self off when playing games. Battery life is rubbish, machine won't work when cartridges are in product. Save yourself some money and do not touch.
If I could give it no stars I would!!

The Chunky Console Comes With A Lead To The Mains
The chunky console comes with a lead to the mains and 2 games (inbuilt, not catridges). I read somewhere the batteries are used up quickly so I bought 2 rechargeable battery packs, 3 games and 2 carry cases to go with the 2 consoles I got my boys. My boys are 3 and 4 and they are learning double-digit numbers, alphabets and spelling like you wouldn't believe. Fab game.

Leapster 2 Is A Great Product, Especially For Keep
Leapster 2 is a great product, especially for keeping children occupied on car journeys, which have never been so peaceful since we bought one for our 5 year-old. There are a variety of different games that can be played. Battery life is good.

The Leapster 2 Is A Great Product. It Keeps The Ki
The Leapster 2 is a great product. It keeps the kids entertained for hours, whether at home or on the road. There's so much for them to do, its really interactive and can teach them alot.
Loads of different games means that they will never get board either. For the price its well worth it. Definitely get oone of these early before they sell out at Christmas
