Silver Cross Surf

After much umming and ahhing over which pram to buy, I bought my Surf in November, ready for my daughters arrival in December. I was unsure if it would be suitable from birth without the carrycot, but i was pleasantly surprised! It came with a good set of accesorries, including an insect net. I also loved that you can change the colour of the pram by just buying an essentials pack.

My daughter was only 6lb2 When she was born and she was very snug and secure with the newborn insert. She was completely flat and comfortable. I think to get the most out of the nest you have to place your baby right at the base of the insert (where the strp betwen the legs is). When she got to around 4 months we removed the wedge out of the insert and just used the the insert to make it a bit more supportive around her head and to add a little extra comfort. She is 6 months now and we no longer use the insert at all. We just use the memory foam seat liner.

The chassis folds incredibly small and is light weight. We bought the Maxi Cosi adaptors with this for ease when nipping to shops to save disturbing the baby. It is a dream to push, even one handed. It is also easy to use on public transport, as you can turn it in the tinyest of spaces.

All in all this is a great pram, good value for money and easy to use. As the previous reviewr said, there is a slight art to the folding. You have to put the handle in the loest position, press the red peddle, push the handle forward and when you feel/hear it click you are then ok to fold. I was told this buy the shop i got my pram from and have never had any problems with the chassis.

I Bought This Pushchair As It Was Advertised As Be

I bought this pushchair as it was advertised as being suitable from birth whe3n in fact it wasn't. It came with a foam insert which was meant to make the pushchair flat inside for newborns. This insert didn't work my daughters head was all squashed and her neck was back. I ended up having to pay another £120 for the carrycot. They should be £155 but my retailer had one on display which she gave me cheaper due to my trouble. After this I then started to experience problems with the base it wouldn't fold down and I ended up stranded in a town centre in the rain with a six week old baby as I couldn't get the base in the car. I sent the base back and it has been repaired but Silvercross are saying the fault that occurred was due to the way I was folding it down so be careful ladies if you fold this down wrong it will start to stick. Silovercross offered me vouchers for my problems but after 3 weeks and 4 phone calls I have not recieved the vouchers. Also Silvercross did send a new modified foam insert for the pushchair but I have not tried it yet. Overall I would not recommend the surf to anyone with a newborn and would not recommend Silvercross to anyone.
