Disintegrated On First Wearing

I bought two pairs of Ecco sandals about four years ago, and put them into the wardrobe to use "some time". I took out the first pair last week, to wear for the very first time. Within an hour of use, the soles had disintegrated. The second pair did exactly the same on Tuesday. I went back to the shop from which I had bought them, not expecting a refund because of course it was too long ago, but the sales lady startled me by saying that yes, they knew about this problem. If this is the case, it would perhaps be an idea to have put the customer in the picture too, and not take the money (not cheap!!) ... and leave her to find out for herself.

Comfortable Uppers, Rubbish Soles

On the plus side, these are supremely comfortable; BUT I had three identical pairs of ladies' lace-ups and on each of them the soles crumbled and disintegrated within months ( & let in water.)

Until I read that they've changed their manufacturing material I sure as hell won't be buying any more.

Lots about this out on the net from Singapore to Chicago; why aren't Ecco taking any notice??

Disaster

Most comfortable shoes I have ever had, but the soles and heels completely disintegrated after less than two yeats of light wear. The material just started to crumble and large chunks fell off. Cannot be repaired. Reaction of shop "How long do you expect shoes to last!!` Wrote it off to bad luck till TWO friends described exactly the same thing happening to their Ecco shoes. Went on line and found a site `Ecco shoes suck` These shoes are sold as a quality product at a premium price, but are a dead loss and the shops/manufacturers just don`t want to know. AVOID ECCO SHOES.

Soles Cracked On Ecco Boots

I bought a pair of Goretex Ecco boots last winter, and first had to return them because the stitching unravelled after only a week. Now the soles have cracked and are letting water in - after paying more money for waterproof uppers that makes the boots unusable as soon as the ground is wet.

The heel (sole) of my shoes cracked, I've just emailed Ecco and waiting for response. Very disappointed as I expected better wear from such expensive shoes. Comfortable but not sturdy as they appear to be.

Boots Fell To Pieces (sole) After Less Than A Year

Boots fell to pieces (sole) after less than a year of use. No reply to my complaint. Will never buy again!

I've had exactly the same experience. I sent photos of the soles to Ecco, but no response to date, so it looks as if I shan't be hearing from them wither.

My Comment Is On The Quality Of Mens Ecco Formal S

My comment is on the quality of mens Ecco formal shoes. In my case they were purchased at John Lewis in Newcastle on Tyne at a cost of £85 not so long ago. Quality of of the service on that day was excellent and as with all John Lewis stores the layout was up to their usua high standard. The shoes have prooved to be not fit for purpose; the soles and heels have disintegrated to a point that makes the shoes unfit for wear. The uppers still look and feel good.

What makes me mad is that the shoes cannot be repaired. My request for them to be sent back to the manufacturer was refused. A floor manager told me that John Lewis had no contact whatsoever with Ecco and nothing could be done. I told him that if i had known I was paying £85 for a pair of shoes that could not be repaired I would never have bought them.
