Hushe A-ces Beat My Insomnia

I am usually a skeptic when it comes to alternative therapy. When a friend asked if I would like to try her cranial electrotherapy stimulator for my insomnia, I had visions of psych wards and electro shock treatment! However, I was assured that the device was nothing of the sort and that it could really do something positive for me. My friend was really singing its praises so I felt there had to be something worth investigating.

The unit is called the Hushe A-CES, which I think is a combination of the manufacturer's name (Hushe Ltd) and the device model (A-CES). The CES part stands for Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (which I admit is quite a mouthful - surely someone could come up with a shorter phrase?). The "A" part of the model name does not appear to be explained, but I suggest it should stand for "Awesome" or "Amazing" because of the experience I have had since using this A-CES device.

I had been sleeping uncomfortably for many years, waking at random times in the night and not being able to get back to sleep. Once it started, I would then get into a cycle of worrying about not being asleep which only made things worse. This made me very sleepy during the day, often feeling desperate for a bed at work, or wanting to lie down in the office. I was unwilling to take sleeping tablets for all the addictive side effects I had read about.

So I borrowed this Hushe A-CES and used it for two weeks twice a day. The procedure was simple and I used it for 30 minutes in bed when I woke up in the morning (better than coffee!) which somehow set me right for the rest of the day. In the evening I used it whilst watching TV. The device has electrodes which clip on to your ears and were very comfortable to use. I could just about feel some tingling in my ears when I increased the output to around level 4, so following the instructions in the manual I turned it down one level from what I call the "tingle spot".

When I was using the Hudhe A-CES I felt very relaxed and happy. It was strange feeling the stresses and strains of the day gently melting away. After just a few days I began noticing a change in my sleep. I began sleeping right the way through til morning for perhaps the first time in years. This continued and has not stopped since, even after 1 month of not using the device. Another thing I noticed was that I was dreaming and remembering my dreams. Beforehand I was not much of a dreamer, but during and after my experience with the Hushe A-CES, my dreams have become vivid and memorable.

Please don't ask me how this thing works, I haven't the foggiest idea. But it does indeed work, that's for sure. I gather that it can be used for other things like stress, anxiety and depression, and although I don't have depression I can certainly testify that I am less stressed than I used to be, and my anxiety about lack of sleep is a thing of the past.

I'm writing this review in the hope that it finds someone else who will benefit from using the Hushe A-CES. I understand that it costs just under £300 and can be rented for three weeks for a lot less. A quick Google of ces devices told me that other similar devices range from £500 to £750, so the Hushe A-CES is definitely value for money.

The website  has heaps of information about the Hushe A-CES and about CES in general.

If you think it will help then go for it!
