Plymouth, Gilwell Hall

Being the most social halls, Gilwell is great for freshers. It is extremely close to everything, you will become very dependant on Cuba! and BestOne. The rooms themselves are a reasonable size, the have a sink, desk and everything you really need. They are single sex flat, but for a guy, it saves all the bitching! The only thing I would say is, ground floor kitchens are very very small, and no kitchens in Gilwell have tables, but seeing as they are the 'Ghetto' of Plymouth, its pretty good going! The best halls by a long run, you'll become great friends with everyone, you have no choice as they are quite small. Warning - if you want luxury, do not choose Gilwell! Oh and the wardens are a nightmare! Have fun!

Rooms at Gilwell Hall, Plymouth, were of a good size, clean, smelt pleasant and was generally a good place to be, have been in lots of uni accomodation whilst viewing them on open days and was very good in comparison to other halls I viewed. I would recommend this standard of accomodation to a friend due to the size of the room, the internet port and phone line ports were of high speed meaning efficient studying can be done in the rooms - the accomodation is very close to the main buildings of the university

I would advise not to listen to what everyone says about Gilwell Hall, it isn't that bad, only when compared to the other halls it can look a little worn. I'm staying here currently and I love it, I wouldn't want to stay in any other halls!

Gilwell is livable and quite decent.. and the people i met are really nice, I love plymouth as a whole, its one of my favourite places in the world. Gwilwell is really homely.

The rooms need tiding up, Bring posters, and a good sound system, it is very much needed, its all boys and all girl flats which is a bit of a pain, but there are worse things, as long as you don't get messy boys like i have.
