Not What Was Advertised

It pains me to do this but I'm going to be honest and try to be as detailed as possible as to why I've gave a low review score for others that are thinking about using the company.

I've purchased and currently studying AAT level 2 and 3 combo pack.

Positives,

1. Workbooks are delivered quickly (first set atleast)

2. Tutor support generally will reply to your messages within 24 hours (Monday to Friday)

3. Textbook is easy to follow for almost all of the first unit that I've complete.

Now for the negatives.

1. During your free trial if you used it, you would have done the work online, the activities for the questions on the textbook at a download straight to spreadsheet so you can work through the activities given whilst learning......well that doesn't exist in the actual package. All you get is a pdf download that isn't supported for spreadsheet format meaning none of the questions can actually be answered online, all have to be answered in the written textbook. Not sure why they don't have it available as it was in the free trail but when I asked the tutor, he told me they don't do that. Everything you want to do must be printed and hand written......kind of makes the online part of online study a lie.

2. Tutor support isn't available on the weekend, it says student services are and I assumed that also meant a tutor was but sadly, they don't have a single tutor on staff that can answer questions on weekends which is unfortunate.

3. There are more stuff to do online but no real guide as to when to do them, they are just numbered, self test 1 through 8 for example. I don't know when to start them or what's contained in them. Also these self tests aren't supported for the spreadsheet format so.......write the questions down on a blank piece of paper I guess??

4. Now question and answer book is the same book. There is a text book that is separate but you got to fill the questions out in the front of the answer book, this becomes a little annoying when you constantly have to flick back and forwards from the front to the back of the book to check answers, would be nice if these where separate.

5. Lastly the answer book for lack of a better way of saying, can't be complete fully. Now what do I mean by this, well the book will give you an activity to do and on 2-3 it doesn't give you the space to actually complete the question. For example, you are tasked to fill out and complete a trail balance, for this trail balance you need 17 lines in the book (according to there own answer book), but they only give you 14 lines to do the actual answer. Which can we 1. Confusing as you feel you've made a mistake. And 2. Makes you try to do shortcuts as there isn't enough room to actually fully fill it out (which you shouldn't do when learning).

All in all, for over £1000 when they say these textbooks are with £765 (from there description)......I expected a bit more thought/ quality.

I've message the student support last night as I hope it's just an error with my book or something but I doubt that's the case. I will persist through and hope the next unit as online support and activities have enough space to fully be compete.

Edit: After messaging the online chat people at training link, i can confirm, no excel link for any of the units, or self tests, or anything during the program that isnt the excel unit in level 3. This kind of makes the "online training" part pointless in my opinion as you cant actually do the study.....online.

They also said they are fixing the textbooks in the future so the tables will have the correct amount of lines to answer the activity. so let me know in the future if activity 4.4 in BTRN answerbook is still messed up in the future.

Never Too Old To Learn

I really enjoyed this course. It took me a while to get to grips with it. When the study manuals arrived I thought OH no what have I let myself in for, but with the support of my tutor it started to sink in! Lots to remember and the older you get it just take a little time to sink in! I'm not sure if there was any part of the course I didn’t like as I just enjoyed learning a new skill. I would have like to have known before hand if there was any kind of video showing the step by step guide when setting up and running payroll. Just something I could refer to during the course work rather than flick back into the manual. Other than that I am very pleased I purchased this course. I am hoping it will me secure a job once I complete and pass the exam.

Fantastic, No Regrets

Having swapped from another provider for an earlier course, I was apprehensive about whether I had done the right thing. The support staff and tutors made the decision a no-brainer and I really felt like had made the right choice. Not only that, but the training material was bang up to date and really detailed, perfect for someone with no experience in payroll previously.

My major concern with the payroll course is the insistence of some providers to still teach 'manual' payroll, when this is no longer an option with HMRC. This course was brilliant in that it looked at the theory (how tax is calculated etc...) but then showed you how to process this in software.

They encouraged study at my own pace and did not make me feel guilty if I hadn't been in touch for a week or two. Work was promptly marked, with good feedback and extra support / explanations where necessary.

I managed to pass the course 1st time and in less time than I had anticipated.

Thank you!

Long Distance Learning Made Easy

I opted to study from home due to convenience and chose Training Link as the reviews were so good. They have certainly lived up to expectation.

The study materials are excellent, very well presented and easy to understand. The tutors are fantastic, so supportive and encouraging and go the extra mile to accommodate for their students.

I would urge anyone looking to study long distance to give Training link a try, I would not hesitate to recommend them highly

Friendly, Efficient Service- Brilliant

I was quite nervous when researching the best training provider for an ICB Bookkeeping course.

There were a few providers out there trying to tempt me in with free pens as incentive and too good to be true reviews. When I came across Training Link their ICB Complete Package Pro was the best option I'd seen, and when I did comparisons with other providers, I realized I'd be getting a lot more for my money than those offering a free pen! For example, they actually include the cost of the exams in this package, whereas others do not.

I bought the Introduction course first, to see if Bookkeeping was for me. Once I found it was, I enrolled on the Complete Package Pro, and they swiftly refunded me the cost of the Intro course.

I'm so glad I chose them. They have been so helpful with the payment plan, and their response times have always been within an hour. You get to email/talk to a real person, not a robot. They assign you a tutor, who sends feedback on every assessment, answers any questions you have, and are really supportive. I'm relieved that I invested my money wisely, as it is a big commitment, but well worth it when you choose the right provider.

Training Link Review

Tutor support is excellent, they are able to help a lot and very quickly

Material support and all document are very good, although some phrases need to be read twice in order to understand.

The only think I didn't like, is when reviewing your live exam, the ICB do not provide the actual answers where you have done an error, it's just general response where you might have gave the wrong answer, which I found very unusual.

Review On Icb Course

I decided to pick up a home study ICB Complete Package course and Training Link made it alot easier with their flexible payment plans and dedicated tutor support. I now MICB and running my own practice thanks to Training Link. During my study the tutors always was there for me and marked my assignments promptly giving accurate feedback. Training Link is very good for study materials and guiding the student through to a level where passing an exam is almost inevitable. The tutors are also very helpful. I went through my course with ease as I did not have to resit any paper. I found the learning materials self explanatory and down-to-earth. Anyone without prior knowledge in Bookkeeping can rely on it. If you're thinking of taking a home study course but do not have ready cash, do not worry just call Training Link. I think this is fantastic because it can afford so many people, who do not have the lump sum.

Speedy Support & Responses

I found the course very user friendly, the books were clear to follow and explained in detail. The online tutors were very quick to respond, which is always good especially when you are waiting for a result.

Their support with queries and errors were informative and well explained.

I have found this course easy to understand, I think the manual bookkeeping is essential in understanding computerised accounts.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Training Link to others.

Very Professional - Thankyou
