I've found Philip to have a very enjoyable teaching style and he explains many elements very well. He can have a joke and be quite warm and friendly and is very personable. His approach is nicely structured and keeps one's mind focused on correct observation of the position and teaches one how to assess the position and create a plan in any position, one that can be adapted given the presentation of new positions. I was able to employ the method and approach he presents immediately in my own game. I've found his lessons to be great value for money and after training with Philip my understanding of the game has improved substantially. A coach I would highly recommend.

I found out about Philip after reading his book on decision making for Chess. I found the book highly instructive for what was then my level in chess. I have also taken live Skype lessons with Philip, which I found interesting and rewarding. We've discussed my own games, Philip's games as well as some GM games. Learning just one key insight from each lesson has been enough to improve my game. Highly recommended.
