I cannot believe how low some companies sink.

I took out a course on veterinary support. Firstly the course wasn't UK material, I had no help throughout,then when I finished I called (no one answered) I emailed some one said they would send through my certificates the following week.

Two weeks passed I thought something was odd. I emailed again, no response, I called, lines are dead.

I contacted a friend of mine and he told me about this site. He looked through a few reviews only to find out that the company has gone in to liquidation but they still keep the website live and are still taking money from students accounts.

I was so livid when I found out, I rang my bank.

Thankfully they were so helpful and refunded this month's payment. Edistance learning is now under investigation as to how they are getting away with this. If anyone is going through this please get in touch with your bank. I realise that I probably won't see the money I have paid again but I would hate for this to happen to anyone else.

Please be aware this company has ceased trading and has left the website live to take money off unsuspecting customers. Emails are ignored and the phone number just rings out. The company will be struck off at companies house at some stage. Beware don't use the site you will lose your money.

Do not purchase on line from any of these companies. They take your money and you don't get your course. Trying to call for a refund is a waste of time. If you have purchased from them recently, get your bank to refund you.

Ok then- this company is an affiliate for all the online/home study course providers out there, such as: Oxford College Learning, Stonebridge, Severn Business College and the likes. This list is not exhaustive. This is not stated on the course specification page which leads you to believe that eDistance is providing the course. If you enrol unknowingly to these online/home study course providers through eDistance, you will pay a lot more for the courses than if you were to enrol directly at the college itself. And sometimes there is a miscommunication between eDistance and the online course providers that they're affiliated with which means you will pay course fees to both eDistance and the College that is supplying the course.

So what have we learnt here? My advice is research high and low on the internet,look around, shop around and ask as many probing questions as possible because once you have enrolled on a course, paid all of the necessary fees and find that you are receiving course materials from an online course provider/college and not eDistance, one word.... REGRET.

Have fun with the refund process. If they respond to you that is. Absolutely awful company. Unprofessional staff as they only reply to you when the matter is easily resolvable. If not they will give you the 'ignore' treatment which is what schemers do best.

I paid in full for the fast track A-level Biology course in September. I was not made aware that the course would actually be provided by Oxford College. I paid for the online course and I was very disappointed with the course materials but as I had paid I decided to just struggle through and make the best of it which I am regretting now.

Two days ago Oxford College cancelled my account and sent me an email saying that edistance learning hadn't paid them. I called edistance learning and they said there had been an 'accounting error', whatever that means, and it would be sorted out within 24 hours. It has not been sorted out and I have sent them another email requesting a full refund if it has not been sorted out by the end of the day but frankly I think I'm going to just fork out the money to go with a different company anyway as the course is so rubbish.

The College was very quick to reply to any queries I asked them. The course is very informative, it has given me the confidence for further studying in this particular field.

I was thinking of buying the employment law module but having seen the reviews about how the company works and about the course materials I've been put off. Sorry, but I think I'll leave it, thanks.

I enrolled on a CIW course with them. I was pleasantly surprised by overall services. Everything including the course content, Practice Tests, Customer Support Team... were good. I would definitely recommend this college.

According to the website they present themselves of very high standards, however today I received my study material, and out comes a 2kg booklet consisting of 7 Units in a booklet.

SEVEN units and ONE note book ?????

Extremely disappointed.

My daughter can read the whole thing in one go and complete the given tasks, as for Level 3 it is a joke.

I never thought I would complete an on-line course within 9 weeks having been given 12 months to actually complete the course. It helped that I had sheer determination to complete the course within a short space of time.

From the start the college were fantastic with accessing my application to logging me on to the course. I telephoned the admn staff a couple of times and they were veery helpful and friendly. Equally, if I had a query regarding the course the tutors were quick to respond. Also, my assignments were all marked within 5 days of submitting them, which meant that I could carry on to the next assignment quickly.

I have nothing but praise from start to finish for the way the course and the people have helped me successfully achieve Level 2 Teaching Assistant Certificate.
