Ladies & Gentlemen, be warned. I was left high and dry by Gap and in my view, was treated absolutely atrociously by them and lost nearly £2,000 into the bargain.Even the managing director did not have the professional and common courtesy to reply to my letter. I most certainly will never ever book anything with them again and will never recommend them to any one else.

Absolute scam. only a very small percentage of my money went to the charity(rescue horses in Chinsa Wild coast of Africa. and the rest was taken by the London administration and marketing. There was no communication with the organisation I went to in Africa and if there was it was the wrong info. No checks were made on the establishment I 'worked' at and there was not a lot to do all day even though I begged for things to keep me occupied.

I paid a lot of money to do voluntary work at the wild coast rescue centre in Africa I had an awful experience of 2 weeks in a place full of 20 somethings I was based in accommodation that was no where near the farm I was supposed to be working. the information that was sent to the farm was wrong and I was told it that there would be people of around my age-40something.all the people in the accommodation were kids and badly behaved ones at that!

Gap Year for Grown Ups is a great organisation which I had never heard of until I was given early retirement ( 5 years!!) with a good bonus pay out (!!). My wife left me donkey years ago so it was just me and one of my old business contacts informed me of this organisation at my leaving do. The rest went extremely quick, I found what I liked and within months I was on the road. A great experience with lovely memories!
