Tresham College of Further and Higher Education

This is one awful college. Studied there for 3 years and i deeply regret choosing Tresham college.

The quality of the teaching is appalling 2 of the teachers would rather talk openly with the students about their personal life rather than teach the lesson or explain the work properly. I can recall the amount of times i have gone home doing absolutely no work the entire day which is not good when a student is at college to learn. 2 teachers were even caught by students in 2005 for engaging in intercourse on college property which is disgusting. the course work is never explained in detail and i have on countless occasions heard other students from other courses say the same thing.

The college are obsessed with money and will come up with any excuse to get it off you even if your course is free ive found my self having to pay up to £200 and not even knowing where that money goes or what it goes towards. Last year they expected me to pay up to £400 + 3 more payments of £60-£100 for a college trip to a country that was in a state of political unrest. they really rob you of your money and don't even take into consideration families on tight budgets or people who are unemployed. people want an education and a decent one without it costing an arm and a leg.

The college facilities are rubbish with 2 cafes serving overpriced eats and drinks. The campus itself is a bit confusing and the lifts always seem to be broken and cant even be used by students. The library is okay but its a pain to borrow books and i have found it hard to study in that area due to the noise from the students. the classrooms are too small and very have a very claustrophobic feel to them and classrooms are on occasion filthy and not in any way clean for use.

The staff are very rude & arrogant as well as being very unhelpful and they let this place down. I really do feel for the students who attend this place now i feel they deserve soo much better than what this appalling institution offers.

i have left the college during a 2 year course i have had enough of the poor treatment from teachers and sick to my stomach of there money grabbing ways. I have even had to get the awarding body involved to speak to the head of department for my course because they are that unhelpful.

i am soo much happier since leaving the course and the college itself and would advise future students to look into alternative colleges like Northampton college or choose a distance learning course which is what im doing now.

I strongly suggest this college reviews its teaching standards and its policy's because its treatment toward students is unacceptable. I will never choose this college ever again.

This college is absolutely disgraceful! There is no other way about it.

They are saying that they do the best for the students to ensure they receive the best support that they need. Yet they've just made the Apprenticeship Staff redundant and added on an Employment office in the college, who are not helpful at all. I've had better luck and help with Connexions.

They rob you of your money. Students are also having to pay for their own bus fairs which is very costly because Tresham is refusing to help out, like they used to before but they just carry on putting the price up. It's bad enough with the government stopping EMA.

The health and social care course I enrolled onto with this college.. Well, It was awful. The students was immature, the tutors used to continue to give you your work back to resubmit without even explaining what you have to do, they expect you to know it at the top of your head? We are there to learn!

I'm learning with a distance course, and I get more information and support from online materials and my tutor than I did at Tresham! Take my advice: avoid like the plague!
