Awful Design, Poor Performance, No Customer Care
I live in France and acquired this OUTBREAKER RP109 watch kit (big box) from a sporting goods retailer shelving it since a very long time. So the first (costly) step was to fit a set of new batteries in every item, that proved to not live for long anyway.
- the accuracy of the alti/baro set is poor and always subject to correction, whatever the atmosphere stability. Same unreliable weather 'forecasts' from the simplistic icons available on the dial.
- the cadencer sensor never worked on my bike.
- the watch itself: what a mess... Where did the idiot engineers at OP learn to design a case & strap? The stupid lugs design (in plain plastic) led to a breakage almost immediately despite a careful use, since web reviews had already warned me about the fragility of these parts - especially when using the bike handlebar very strong grip support (which is theoretically one of the intended purposes of the watch set...).
Now the watch is left usable only on the bike or in a pocket, since no replacement part nor not any help is to be expected from OP France, nor anywhere on the world wide web as far as I could explore.
- again about the design: what is the one-way clickable bezel designed for? It bears NO graduation, just indexes and in regard to NONE other indication inside the dial (where reigns only digital display)... Totally nonsense, idiot design from people who do not understand how a wristwatch should be designed.
- However, the lazily-locked bezel is always turning by itself when wearing the watch, so that you have to turn it again & again to have the silly red triangle index facing the '12' usual position on analog watches...
- I have not tested the water & real outdoor resistance, since the strap broke the lugs holes very quickly. However, given the poor design of the single ring gasket supposed to allow a fantasy claimed '50 m' water resistance, I am very dubious about the features.
- the CD cannot be read to install the included software, due to a DLL fault. No way to find a corrective patch, an updated software, even the company website has erased all issues about this model!
The kit provides a bulky & ugly stand to attach the watch to when up/dn loading data, one wonders again where the designers found their inspiration...
Today all that mess kit I had purchased for quite cheap will go to scrap.
CONCLUSION: I will NEVER buy again ANY product from this company, which seems limited now to sub-standard semi-toy products for home usage.

My Watch Case Broke Where The Strap Attaches, As T
My watch case broke where the strap attaches, as the case seems quite brittle, even with only occasional use.
Not possible to get a replacement case so watch is not usable. Oregon seemed of no help to me with regard to getting a replacement case.

Don't Bother With This Watch, I Only Bought It Bec
Don't bother with this watch, i only bought it because it was on sale and very cheap, it ticked the boxes i was looking for at the time, but there are more substantial watches out there, far better quality and built better. Am wishing i hadn't purchased this thing as i have now to save for another - thanks oregon!

My Unit Also Broke Because Of Straps. I Paid 220 E
My unit also broke because of straps. I paid 220 EUR for this watch, while new unit and work would cost me 38 EUR. If you ride your bike a lot, you have to change batteries very often. As said before, bike unit is very big and ugly and it looks awful on a road bike. It also doesn't work the best in rain. In my opinion, pay half more and buy Polar.

I Generally Would Not Recommend The Maker To Anyon
I generally would not recommend the maker to anyone. My Timex Ironman (and it is a solid watch) will take a beating and heres the best part you can get PARTS.
I was told I would have to pick a replacement from their web site. They no longer make the rp 107. BUT I could only find 1 watch and its out of the replacement price range they gave me!
Stay away from this bunch. They will go under before long and stop taking up valuable space better served to a company that will DO something for you.

If You Are Willing To Change Batteries Often And T
If you are willing to change batteries often and treat the equipment as if not intended to be used outdoor in wet weather, the Oregon Scientific RP109 Sports Watch/Altimeter/Heart-Rate Monitor Unisex is really not bad. Speed sensor works heart rate belt can be changed with a VETTA belt if you have one available then you won't have to change that battery more than once yearly.

If It Wasn't For The Strap And Oregon's Complete L
If it wasn't for the strap and Oregon's complete lack of sales care this would be a good watch. However for anyone who intends to buy a sports watch that they can use....look elsewhere
