Never Use This Company

I visited there Bristol showroom in November 2018. I met the tailor (Mac Rahman). It was a good experience and I ordered the suit, paying in advance.

In January 2019 I had received no contact from the company so I contacted them to be told there was a delay on the order. Time passed. I called again, many times. I chased for updates through January and February, finally asking for a refund as the order was so overdue.

Now the company are refusing a refund and will not respond to my calls. I have been forced to start legal proceedings against them. Still no response. No suit and no refund.

An utter disgrace of a company.

DO NOT USE THEM!

Totally Disreputable Company

Totally disreputable company. Paid for a suit in April 2018. Had 7 fittings, each of them an hour away from home. Each time, the suit had apparently been tailored, but was poorly fitting (to the extent of not being able to straighten my arms whilst wearing the jacket!). After 7 months (yes, 7 months), I was still being requested to come in for further fittings. I was also told that the fitting studio closest to me (an hour away!) had closed and could I go into London for further fittings. A 90 minute train and a tube ride later, I met with a different tailor who told me “these measurements are completely wrong - this suit would never fit you”. He then took further measurements and offered to send me my completed suit by post. It came, was just as bad as each other attempt, and I’ve since spent the last 3 months trying to get a refund. Customer services do not answer the phone, nor do they reply to voicemails or emails.

It’s now almost 10 months on, I don’t have my tailored suit (promised in 3 months), and A Suit That Fits seems to be closing fitting centres. Once they have your money, they simply do not care, and a quick google shows many examples of their financial mismanagement and troubles.

They are still Spamming me with special offers, so are obviously trying more empty promises to get cash up front.

Do not trust.

Avoid

Firstly if I could give them no stars, I would. They call themselves a bespoke tailoring service - what a joke, they don’t know the meaning of this term! Style advisors don’t have a clue what they are doing. 10 months after ordering a suit, it still wasn’t completed and was out the blue advised that the company was in liquidation and they wouldn’t be able to finish it. The company went into liquidation in March 2018 but wasn’t told until September 2018. Suggested getting the suit finished by a local tailor and they would pay - pigs might fly before this happens. Appointments took place in rented rooms in open plan offices where you were expected to change in toilets. One appointment, they didn’t even have a mirror with them to see yourself!

Customer services manager (I use this term very loosely) has terrible customer service skills. Doesn’t answer emails, doesn’t respond to telephone calls. Now attempting to claim via charge back from my credit card company as they are refusing to correspond.

If you have money to throw away and want a badly fitting suit or in some cases no suit then more fool you! They take your money up front but don’t produce the goods.

Best advice is to avoid, avoid, avoid!

They Are Useless Avoid Like The Plague

Ordered suit in late 2016, I am now 5 visits in, suit remade completely once and has never fitted properly. People that are fitting have no knowledge they are sales people without a clue.

I have tried to get a refund they have refused, my last course of action is a section 75 as purchased on credit card.

Without doubt the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to use

Run A Mile

Run a mile. I wasted £724 on a suit which I bought as a Christmas present for my husband. More than 6 months and 4 appointments later, still no suit and no refund either, despite 3 written formal requests. At the first fitting, the jacket was so small my husband could not straighten his arms, and well, the trousers; where do I start? Ghandi trouser/harem pants! And the cloth was such poor quality that they admitted they needed to start again as there were such noticeable faults in the main jacket panel, right at the front. By the fourth appointment they had completely lost the trousers. Run a mile, honestly.

A Suit That Doesn't Fit - Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!

AVOID this company at all costs! 1,5 years have passed (!) since I made my order – my money is gone and I have no wearable suit.

I’ve never in my life had such a poor service, NEVER! If you’re considering using ASTF, think twice and better go elsewhere, anywhere– a local tailor or off-the-peg suit store. Below is my story.

Suit

After 1,5 years since I made my order the suit is still unwearable. For over a year I’ve been trying to get the shoulders corrected (shoulders are an essential part of a suit, if they don’t fit, the whole suit looks rather ridiculous). And for all this time ASTF couldn’t get them right. I believe that I have normal human shoulders and this is why I think it’s the lack of competence and expertise to blame in the case of ASTF.

Concerning the quality of fabric, it’s fair to say that it’s not bad: it’s nice to the touch and stitching is good. But it’s of no use when the suit itself doesn’t fit.

Style advisors

'..don’t expect it [the suit] to fit…' - I was told this at one of my early appointments after I’d said that I wanted a perfectly fitting suit.

If you decide to use ASTF prepare to battle with their so called ‘style advisors’ every single time. They constantly wanted me to collect the unfinished suit. They are simply incompetent to spot and resolve issues or perhaps they are paid a commission for getting the customer to collect the suit at whatever state it is, even if it’s unfinished. Sometimes they failed to see obvious problems (like shoulder pads sticking out like batman’s wings): 'I think it’s alright' – was the comment of that ‘style advisor’. At my last appointment when I said that one shoulder was too tight which didn’t feel comfortable and created folds along the sleeve and shoulder, I was told 'Umm it’s a pressing issue, why don’t you go and steam-press it?' DO learn about the suits yourself (how they should fit etc) and DO NOT TRUST these ‘style advisors’!

Appointments

The first appointment at which the measurements were taken was a very nice one. The style advisor was polite and helpful throwing lots of promises at me about how ASTF will deliver everything in the best possible manner. I got to choose the elements of the suit, from fabric to shape of pockets, and by the end of it, I was pleased and looked forward to trying on my new suit.

However, once you’ve paid them, the money is theirs and legally they don’t have to refund you under any circumstances (because it’s a tailor-made product). This means once you’ve paid them, they stop caring. And this is exactly what happened to me. I’ve had 5 style advisors over these 1,5 months, and only one of them (Ilona is her name) actually tried to help. The rest of ‘style advisors’ were incompetent and rude: once one of these ‘style advisor’ even said to me how his day got spoilt (!) when I came to the appointment, after I raised a concern about the suit.

The appointments system is very inflexible – usually the nearest appointment slot is in 2-4 weeks and these slots are inconvenient either. So usually I ended up with two options – 8 00 or 13 00 in two-three weeks time.

Management

After expressing my disappointment about the service (again) to management and my wish to get a refund, I got a call from the managing director Daniel. 'I’m Managing Director and I’m calling you, this means we care' he said to me. He invited me to another appointment to review the suit with me, despite me saying that I didn’t believe anything would change and how sick and tired I was of coming to these frustrating appointments. He went on to accuse me, saying that it’s my fault that got an unfitting suit because I had missed some appointment a year ago (I clearly remember notifying ASTF in advance when I couldn’t make appointments, but hopefully you already have an idea of what this company is like). I was told that I shouldn’t hope to get my money back unless I continue coming to appointments.

In conclusion, I think ASTF is a horrible company that, frankly, shouldn’t even exist in the 21st century, all it wants is to take your money and then deliver sub-standard service at a cost of few pennies (and then, on top of that, accuse you of the bad outcome). My advice to you - DO NOT bring them your money!

Mark.

Did What It Says On The Tin.

I started this off by searching for bespoke dinner suits for my upcoming cruise. At the time, there was an offer in place for a 2 suits purchase. I took advantage of this and ordered a formal 2 pc suit . I also added 2 pairs of chinos. The service from start to finish has been exemplary including home delivery for the 2nd part of my order. Fit and style are excellent and I am extremely satisfied and would have no hesitation in recommending ASTF to any one else.

2 Years At Least 10 Visits No Suits And No Refund

This was the second time I have used a suit that fits. What seems to have happened from my perspective is they have grown in size and can no longer maintain the original quality. What I have learnt though it is much easier to but a quality suit already made and have it adjusted.

If they get the original measurement wrong then you are into a world of stress and wasted time. What's more they have a great ability to be extremely polite but deliver nothing of quality and no refund to boot.

I had a better experience when I first used them in 2011 but it appears their growth has led to an unacceptable drop in quality and service
