Do Not Shop At Mamas And Papas. We Experience Rude

Do not shop at Mamas and Papas. We experience rude and condescending customer service at Mamas and Papas' Craigleith (Edinburgh) store. My wife wanted to exchange an item she had been given as gift for our daughter. Unfortunately it was too small for her so we took it to one of their stores expecting to be able to get something else / or a credit note. With no real explanation they told her that it would not be possible as it was 'summer stock' and from their Livingstone store. There were very abrupt and unfriendly in their manner. She returned to the car quite upset. So I reutned to the car to find out why the exchange had been refused. Another assisant said the same thing to me. I asked her to patently explain why the exchange was not possible as 'summer stock' and 'Livingstone' meant nothing to me. She then proceeded to tell me that the item was old stock, and they were now in a different season and the item was from an outlet store and could only be returned to that store. I explained that we expected to be able to return it to any store and the 'summer' was only just over and should not be a reason for not being able to return an item. Another assistant came over and said in rasied vice: 'I told her it was from an outlet store'. They were still insistant that it could only be return to the store 20 miles away. I explained that it was too far to travel. Over all a bad shopping experience.

I Bought A Lot Of Cotton Babygros Etc From Mamas A

I bought a lot of cotton babygros etc from Mamas and Papas clothing. The care label on ALL their cotton (clothes, sheets and blankets) states that they cannot be tumble-dried which I think is just not practical with a small baby. When I did tumble dry them the garments shrank by at least a size and the cotton fabric became quite thick in texture. I have tumble-dried lots of cotton babygros etc from other manufacturers without any problem (BabyGap are particularly good) so I think Mamas and Papas seem as though they are just cutting costs by using cotton that has not been pre-shrunk but charging top dollar for it anyway. By the way, the care label for a lot of their clothes, sheets and blankets does not appear to be visible until you open the packaging.
