I have tried a few exfoliating facial scrubs in the past, but I gave up using them as they seemed not only messy, but a little too harsh on the skin. Olay Regenerist Cleanser Daily Thermal Skin Polisher is different to any I have tried. It is gentle enough to use daily, and with regular use it leaves the skin looking bright and feeling fresh. It states on the tube 'for the look of a mini peel with regular use'.
To apply, you first need to sponge the skin with tepid water. Squeeze a small amount onto the back of your hand, and apply to the facial skin using your fingertips. You will immediately notice the warming effect this has! You will feel the tiny exfoliating granules. These are not nearly as harsh as some I have tried in the past! The best way to use any exfoliator is to rub very gently, using the fingertips, in gentle circular movements all over the face, avoiding the eye area. Then simply rinse off, gently pat skin dry, and apply your moisturiser. Even after one use your skin will feel and look better! I personally do not use this every day, as every other day suits me better. You will decide how often you feel you would like this treatment, and even if you only use it once a week, I am sure you will not only feel, but see the difference!
Exfoliation is to remove the dead skin cells that lay on the surface of the skin. Sometimes these dead cells give the appearance of tired dull skin. As the dead skin cells come away, the beautiful newer fresher cells underneath are revealed, giving a brighter fresher look. It takes around 28 days for the cells in the Epidermis to reach the surface. Therefore, with any skin care it sometimes takes that long to see a marked, visible improvement. This is not stated on skin care products in general (surprisingly, not even Olay state this fact!), which is why many of us give up after a week or so thinking it is showing no improvement!
Olay do not call this product an exfoliator; they call it a Thermal Skin Polisher. I wonder if that is because many others like myself have tried exfoliators and found them a little too harsh?!
I would not have tried this product had it not been for my Son and his lovely Partner giving me a beautifully wrapped Christmas present of various Beauty products that she carefully selected, Bless her! I remember my dear Mum using Oil of Ulay many years ago, and I always associated it with old women! Come to think about it she was probably the age I am now!
I am quite impressed with this product and the improvement I can see, and will continue to use this now, not as a Daily Cleanser but certainly around three times a week.
Don't forget to apply your moisturiser after using this, or if in the evening, your night cream! We all want to stay looking younger for longer don't we?!
