The Lush Online Store Has Had Another Visit From O

The Lush online store has had another visit from one of its best customers! Me!! As my most recent Lush order hits my doormat I can't wait to get into the bathroom and try all the fantastic products out! Now seeing as I only have a shower in my small flat, I am limited to the products in which I can try out from Lush. They seem to do a lot of nice bath bomb and ballistics but this is not something I can use often so I am working my way through their surprisingly good selection of shower products.

Lush Ring of Roses Shower Cream looked fantastic in the picture on Lush's website but when mine came it looked a little less luxurious. The picture shows a lot of rose petals in amongst the product but mine appeared to have none, anyway I still trotted off to the shower to try out my new goodies!

Price and Packaging:

It cost me £2.85 for this shower cream of 100gs. This price I think is fairly reasonable for what you are actually getting. Ring of Roses is one of the more expensive Butter Creams from Lush but in my opinion I don't think it is really expensive at all.

It comes within a flat plastic container with an easily removed lid. The container is actually what we get our Chinese take away meals in. I do reuse the containers, as they are pretty handy for storing quite a few things, but I find it best not to store food in the old Lush containers however!

Look and Smell:

The Butter Cream product looks just like a big slab of butter in the container and has a very faint pink colour to it. You can see just by looking that the product is very thick and creamy. When you pick the bar up it feels very solid but once the block is squashed it easily goes into soapy mush.

The smell is certainly that of roses but it is very faint and not over powering at all. I sometimes worry that with fragrant products the smell would be just too overpowering but Lush seems to have this art down to a tee! This product is very fresh smelling and the aroma is really that of a floral fruity soap.

General Use:

This product is aimed at being used in the shower but to be honest, I find it really hard to actually use it. You have to sort of grab a chunk and rub it over your body but seeing as I have a power shower I have to try to avoid getting too wet otherwise the shower cream just slides off my body. I have to really turn off the water and then rub the cream over my body.

The cream itself really does smell extremely nice and the product is very creamy and rich. There are not any bubbles really to speak of but the cream does smooth over the skin well and leave a trail of creaminess. The main problem is really just to keep the cream on the skin and making sure it just doesn't glide off the body.

My skin after using the product really does feel smoother and softer. I am left with my skin smelling beautifully fresh and fragrant and overall I am happy with the smell and feeling I am left with.

What Lush Say About Their Product:

"We make this Rose Pink Butter Cream with real rose absolute - not some paltry imitation of rose fragrance, so it is particularly lovely for dry skin and older bodies. Rose helps to soften hard skin and soothe soreness too. Toning lemon and orange essential oils are added to a beautiful infusion of fragrant garden flowers: larkspur, honeysuckle, marigold and cornflower. Glycerine and cocoa butter moisturise the skin to help it stay hydrated and supple. Amandopondo fans will recognise and love the scent; now you can shower with lemon and roses too!"

Conclusion:

Well I have mixed views on this product. I love the smell and the way my skin feels after using it. The main problem is actually using the cream! I have tried it on my flannel and on my body buffer but really with not much joy. I find applying the cream just very awkward and it is an ongoing struggle to keep the cream on the skin and not straight down the plug hole!

I would rate this product an 8/10. This is a pretty generous score considering the difficulty I have had with actually using it but I think the smell I am left with on my skin and the way my skin feels afterwards give it the few extra points that make up the score to 8/10

I hope this has been of some help to you.

Thanks for reading.
