No7 Gorgeous Eye Palette

Having seen No7 Gorgeous Eye Palette advertised in several magazines around the release date in June I decided to treat myself and bought this using my Boots advantage card points, at a price of £12 at the time (it has since been reduced).

The packaging is lovely, and the colours look vibrant and fresh

However on getting home (a trip less than a mile from my nearest Boots) I found that the compact was completely smashed, so I had to return to Boots the same day to exchange it for another one- my fault for not checking before I paid for it I suppose.

I exchanged it, returned home and as I didn't have time to try it then, left it for a few days

I came to try the palette a few days later, and to my horror, this one had also smashed as well! I was horrified! Id only come home from the same Boots store and it had been sitting on my dressing table for 2 days, I had not touched it since then, it had not been dropped at all. I had also checked it before leaving the store as I didn't want to end up with another broken one! The only way it could have been broken was on the trip home, where it was placed in its bag in my handbag in the car for less than a mile. So off I went to Boots again for another one

This time, it didn't break luckily. However, eyeshadows that break that easily, in my opinion, should not be allowed to be sold. Either the eyeshadows' themselves are not strong enough, or the packaging is not adequate enough to hold them safely without breakage. I've never had any problems with eyeshadow before, and I've bought all sorts of different brands, even from online stores which haven't broken during postage

Anyway. I eventually got round to trying the eyeshadow and was really disappointed. Although the colours look great in the palette, they are not that good when applied, and you need to apply lots of the powder to get any sort of colour. Once applied, I found the eyeshadow didn't last that long at all, it disappeared within a few hours.

Very disappointing product, don't waste your money!

NB- Regarding the breakage of this product, I also found out that 4 other people I know who purchased this also had problems with the eyeshadows coming loose from the palette and smashing, so I'm not the only person who has had problems with this product.
