Jones and Payne London, Shoreditch

I went to do my highlights, I showed 5 pictures and explained that I do not want them orange or brassy but at least golden colour, was told that it will be fine, when the bleach was washed off you couldn’t see any highlights at all even on my natural roots. I was very upset as I paid £150. I rang them the next day to say that I am really hot happy with my highlights they told me to come back, however when I came back I have been told that nothing can be done about it. I asked for a refund but have been refused. When I asked who is the owner of the salon stylist suggested that she can actually put few more lighter highlights in but it was very awkward and not a word has been said. Afterwards my hair looked exactly how I wanted for it to be in a first place but I will not be back. There was few nasty things being said to me as well like: try someone else and hope you hair falls out etc which I found extremely upsetting. I have been back twice before to other place during last 15 years when I wasn't happy with my hair colour but nowhere have I been spoken to the way I have been spoken to at Jones and Payne.

After a disaster of a cut and colour at another salon I visited Jones & Payne for them to save my hair! And save my hair is exactly what they did, infact I am more happy with it than ever.

I will never trust anyone else with my hair from now on. They won best hair salon London in 2013 and I can see why!

A Happy Customer

Went to Jones & Payne on a friends recommendation because I thought my hair needed updating, so booked a cut and full head of highlights with Gary. Had seen loads of positive reviews so was looking forward to a restyle. Gary was very friendly and nice but didn't seem at all confident about what he was goimg to do with my hair. As a result I ended up with a cut that looked very boring and unimaginitive, basically a long bob. Even though I explained that my hair misbehaves when cut into this style his only remedy was to snip of another half an inch of hair at the sides. By the time I arrived home my hair need coaxing back into shape and in the morning it looked so bad I had to make an appointment with a local hairdresser to correct it. Might as well have stayed in the suburbs in the first place. Didn't see anyone elses hair being styled that well either. Wouldnt go back there even if they offered a free hairdo!!!

Absolutely wonderful experience. The salon is just beautiful, everyone was welcoming and attentive I was even offered a drinks menu full of cocktails and alcohol which was exactly what I needed on a Friday night!

The cut experience itself was also just brilliant, great wash and massage by a very polite young girl then I was upstairs for my cut. Lewis advised me and gave me some options and explained everything he was doing throughout the cut, which is something I have never had before they normally just cut cut cut and then its all done. This was a breath of fresh air and put me at real ease (Thanks Lewis!!!)

I'll definitely be going back!

I would never go here again. I was swayed by the reviews and decided to give it a try this summer. WHAT A MISTAKE!! Worse experience I have had. My highlights were dreadful. So unprofessional. They were very thick, the opposite of what I asked for. Very light/ over bleached and not the natural look I wanted. The colour started 1cm from my roots, so when I left it looked like it had at least 6 weeks growth, not newly highlighted!! Totally disappointed, a waste of money. Never again!! AVOID!!!

AVOID!!!! i just move to london few months ago and i was looking for good salon reviews,and jones and payne seems like really good one,i was all i asked for was a 2 inch trim.I don't know what happened. I asked for (1) not much to be cut off and (2) NO layers.

I left with (1) short ass (2) layered hair, Jennifer Anniston 1996 style*. Wanted to kill myself. Instead, I am not cutting my hair for the rest of the damned summer. I don't care how feral I look. And sorry, but there's no reason for me to go back...

Ricky recently cut my hair and it was FANTASTIC.I have had it done by other hairdressers in the past......... somtimes more expensive and can honestly say Jones and Payne are the best around especially Ricky.I would not go anywhere else now they really are the BEST.Jo

Had the most amazing experience at Jones & Payne! After having to find a new hairdresser due to moving, I trawled through reviews of East London Salons & Jones & Payne kept cropping up so I booked an appointment with Ricky. The Salon itself is beautiful, bright & airy & the staff are so friendly. I was offered a drink when I arrived & sat down with Ricky for a chat over a bellini! Just when I thought it couldn't get better I got the best head massage whilst reclining on a massage chair having my hair washed. Ricky explained everything he was doing making sure I was happy with everything... It was so nice to have a hairdresser who was really interested in what he was doing & taking his time rather than rushing through. I left completely happy & re booked for my next appointment.. I can't wait! Great value for money, lovely experience, I can't recommend this place enough! Thanks Jones & Payne... very happy customer :)

Yesterday I visited Jones & Payne for the first time and it was a wonderful experience. I was given a big pot of English tea on arrival as well as strawberries with cream, a very nice surprise to celebrate English team in World Cup.Ricky talked to me about what I wanted to be done and we've agreed on the cut and the length of my hair (it's quiet long and I didn't want it to be cut too short).My hair wash with Shu Uemura treatment was really nice and I nearly fell asleep! Ricky has worked magic on my hair. Noone before Ricky ever asked me to stand up while cutting my hair at the back. It makes perfect sense though as it is so long. The style that I have now gives so much bounce and shape to my hair, it makes me feel special and beautiful.

I wish English football team could delivered results as good as the job Jones and Payne does!

I have finally found a hair salon I want to go back to! My haircut looks amazing, so new, refreshed and ready for the summer. Toby has done a wonderful job.

The salon looks stunning and everything was there for me- the aircon, cold shampagne and even a special hook where I could hang my handbag! I will certainly be going back.
