The Alterna Life Volumising Shampoo has a medicated scent, rather than a more aromatic scent. It definitely dries Asian hair as well as blond hair rather than leaving a more silky texture & lustrous appearance. Also, it's uncertain whether the shampoo really prevent hair loss.
I would rate it satisfactory overall.

Since I love Alterna's thickening compound, I thought I would try their volumising shampoo and conditioner, but was disappointed to find that it seemed to have very little effect and in fact seemed to dry out my hair and weigh it down. I don't think this is very good value for money as the product is quite expensive. Perhaps this shampoo is better suited for asian fine hair..I am not sure.
