Inessence Aveda, Hertfordshire

Just thought I would add to the reviews for Inessence. I'm relatively new to the area and since moving to Hertfordshire have tried three hair salons before Inessence. I found it by google and went on my way home from work. Kevin is a decent bloke and has tons of experience. We had a good chat and I was confident he would have ideas for hairstyles if I wanted a change. He also did that oh so rare thing for a haridresser: LISTENED to what I said and talked me through what he would do. Best haircut I've had in ages and I will be going back very soon. Superb value for a men's cut too. About half the price of Toni & Guy etc and ten times better cut.

I successfully sued Inessence for the damage to my hair so I am amazed at the good reviews on here.Are they made up? Did they write them themselves? Why do they not have a salon website? I went to Inessence purely on the strength of the good reviews on this site. Big Mistake. My just past shoulder length highlighted hair was completely destroyed from the roots to the end. [name removed] assured me I would leave with the most beautiful blonde hair, instead I left with 60% of my hair, that which was remaining was burnt and ripped to pieces. Similarly, my daughter also suffered at least a 20% hair loss and extensive damage at the same time. Avoid like the plague.

I was so nervous about getting my hair done, as it has been messed up before but i can reassure anyone with nerves about their hair to go to Inessence. The atmosphere is amazing, there are 2 young girls who work here. I know Becky very well, lovely girl whos always up for a chat and seems to a very happy young lady -she doesnt cut but she certainly keeps everyone entertained and does a bloody good hair wash!!

The colour of my hair is brilliant and has lasted very well, the cut was done exactly how i wanted it and i am most pleased with my current look.

I would recomend to everyone who is looking for a trendy, but healthy looking hair cut and color!!

When I arrived in Hertford on a short-term assignment, one of my first tasks was to find someone to care for my hair. There are many shops in Hertford, so the choices were many. I popped into Kevin's shop and it felt really good. There was something about him that made me feel like I was in the hands of a true professional - and an artist. We set up a consultation, and rest is history.

He is truly an artist. My colour has never been this good, and the cut is amazing. If you haven't been to Inessence on St. Andrew St in Hertford, you must!

After losing my hair from Chemotherapy, I was recommended to Inessence. My hair had come through dark with lots of grey and in bad condition.I was very nervous but Kevin quickly reassured me. He coloured my hair and it was totally transformed,a good all over colour and in great condition.The confidence in my appearance returned.I have been back several times ,Kevin and his staff are really friendly and very knowledgeable.Thanks

Finally as a man that cares about his hair I have found a salon that are fantastic. I have fairly long hair & have had many bad experiences at the hands of hairdressers that think because I'm a man I should have short neat hair. Thank heavans for Kevin & the girls at inessence. It was fantasice to find a team that listened to what I was saying with regard to what colour I wanted & have I wanted it cut. I left the salon feeling ten feet tell with a head of hair that any woman would be jealous of. I can't recomend Kevin highly enough. So girls if you care about your hair & how it looks get yourself along to Inessence & treat yourself.

I booked a cut yesterday on the spur of the moment after seeing the sign for them specialising in long hair in the window.

Mine is very long & has previously been cut at many 'named' high street salons. But I've not found one in Hertford I particularly liked.

Kevin was a gem, friendly, professional, super quick & incredibly knowledgeable of his trade. Never once asking me to stand so he could cut across the bottom of the length as so many have previously done!

I left the salon with a beautiful, product free haircut. The Aveda line they use is gorgeous with no nasties so I'll definitely be going back for a colour too sometime soon.

Would highly recommend for anyone with long hair that wants a down to earth salon & a highly professional cut.

I recently relocated from the North to Hertford and after several poor experiences with hairdressers, I was particularly apprehensive about looking for a new hairdresser. Through reviews I heard about Kevin (owner), and Inessence Hair Dressers. When I passed by their salon I found out that they had a super deal for half price on Monday's!

When I telephoned to make the appointment, the girl was polite and efficient. I asked who would be cutting my hair and was told it would be a girl called Mollie. I became quite nervous at this stage as I usually only have my hair cut by a principle stylist. However, I plucked up courage and went to see Mollie.

Mollie was super, she paid full attention to my needs and I was able to walk out of the salon feeling a million dollars. Most importantly Mollie did not create something I could not replicate at home.

As someone who uses reviews to help me choose services, I promised myself I would let others know about the experience. If you are unsure of which salon to use in the Hertford area....make this your first port of call!

I have been going to Inessence in Hertford since Sept 2010 and will not go anywhere else. The salon is cosy anyway but the staff are friendly and professional. Kevin the Manager and Main Hair Technician is extroadinary and he has helped me develop my hair to it's best and more. As an Actress it is important I have amazing hair and when I leave after having treatment....I have a bounce in my step and several turned heads (no kidding). Kevin and Mollie and their staff make an excellent team and when I am famous I will take Kevin with me.....He knows my hair so well!!1

I think I've been unlucky in my visit to Kevin at Inessence in Hertford.

My first visit was with my two daughters, we were actually at the salon for two and a half hours - I was due for a full head tint trim and blow dry while my daughter were to have one trim and one cut. Kevin forgot that I was having my hair done completely!

I have to say because of the long wait with two small children, the jury was out. However, everyone allowed to make a slip up occasionally, and I was generally pleased with my hair colour.

Then today I went for my colour - booked my appointment last week, only to find the shop closed with a note stuck in the window saying that due to illness shop closed!

I have to say I'm apauled at the level of service I've received so far a phone call would have been curteous to say that my appointment would need re arranging surely.................
