Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL Hypnotic Red

i bought the red waterproof one i liked it to start but when i tried to strip my hair it turned ginger i have now tried to strip it 3 times with no luck my hair is a joke i wont leave house because it looks so bad..... if dying ur hair stay clear of the waterproof ones I WISH I HAD !!

Just tried it out just then , my hair is dark brown and it worked pretty well so far :) , why get disappointed over a packet of 5 dollar hair dye ? , it does exactly what it says & its not permanent so you dont have to worry about what it will look like :)It gives my hair a bit of a highlight to it without looking overly fake so thumbs up for me i guess :)

I bought this colour wanting a brighter red colour my hair has been red for years using loreal i just wanted a brighter colour and thought id try this, as i started applying it i could see the top of my hair taking to the colour i was really happy with my hair is quite long and thick so i used two bottles... as i washed it all out the tope of my hair is bright red and the ends and underneath is BLACK ive never had black hair and i havnt had blode either in for 3 years so it wasnt that. Anyways i bought another 2 bottles of red and only applied it to the parts that didnt take red washed it out and it went even darker again. Certainly will never ever be using this product again. i wouldnt reccommend this to anyone either

I bought this dye as I thought it looked a really nice bright colour. I already had dark hair so I also bought a stripper to take out the colour that was already there. After stripping the black out, my hair went a light ginger colour so I thought it was perfect for putting the red onto. Expecting to get a bright vibrant red colour I put the dye on. Very disappointing as I washed the dye away. The colour of my hair was practically black again and you could only see a hint of red in really bright sunshine, I will never be purchasing any XXL live dye again as it was a pure waste of money and my time!

I changed my hair from very bright red (Rihanna) to a warm deeper red shade at my salon about 2 months ago but had a break from coloring due to the damage caused by bleaching (to achieve the bright red) so my hair faded to a light orangey/red.

I decided to try a home color and after much deliberation in the shop I purchased the Schwarzkopf Live XXL in Hypnotic Red for £3.99. I was kind of sceptical about how it would turn out as past experience with the Red Passion shade left me disappointed. I was pleasantly suprised...

The recommended total development time is 30 minutes but to try and give the color a better chance i left it on for 45 minutes and walha! my hair is red once again.

The color guide on the box and on the model looks to be a more orange based red but my hair is a lovely bright cherry color with not a hint of orange in sight.

I dyed it a week ago and have washed it 3 times and the color has not faded at all but I will expect it to as reds are notorious for the hard maintenance.

I would recommend this to people with naturally red (ginger) or blonde to mousey hair but i dont think the results would be as noticeable on dark hair unless pre-lightened with bleach.

10/10 and great value for money!

I can only assume that the individual who placed the transformation pictures on the box was colour blind. Imagine my delight when reading the description and looking at these pictures when they explained that a bright purple colour could be achieved over dark hair....common sense told me that this was not acheivable, but surely the company would not state a blatant falsehood in the interests of tawdry profit.

I should have listened to commonsense. 2 packets of XXL Colour Live later I am trying to work out exactly why I wasted my money. The impact is minimal and can just about be seen in bright sunlight.

Please do not waste your money on this product if you have dark hair. Buy a Mcdonalds instead, at least you will get something out of it, and to be honest it will have just as much impact on your hair colour as this comedy product

I love this product. I have never gone red before but after i had seen many people go red and including celebrities I thought I might as well go for it. this product was really easy to use by the way I used the pemenent real red. I had mid-dark brown hair and I think the colour was really noticeable I dont regret using this product at all and as my hair is quite thick i used 2packs. This is a good product for money and has a strong colour. but if you hav darkbrown/black hair the red wont be as bright.

This is my first use of a live xxl, as i am a hairdresser and was disapointed with the lack of colour intensity in salon colour. My hair has NEVER felt so well CONDITIONED after using a colour and thats with pre-lightening it before hand. Absolutely love the 43 red pssion shade! I am hoping it stays in and doesnt fade too fast(its only been a few days).

love the color my hair was mahogany b4 hand ,was worried it wouldnt take but im happy with result :)

ive been dying my hair since i was 13 and always use live XXL.Ive used : red passion, hypnotic red, cyber purple, mystic violet, deep black, red black and cool brown. The blacks and browns lasted for about 2 months which was a reasonable amount of time. The red and purples only lasted 3-5 weeks, then faded, but the faded color still looked nice. The conditioner that comes with the dye really helps lock in teh color too, and doesnt damage hair as much as other dyes i have used. would definitely recommend this :)
