Does The Job

Fairly powerful lightener and doesn't cause too much damage to the hair. Smooth texture. Always do a skin and strand test. Is better for use on medium to light brown hair. Gentle bleach. Fairly good value for money.

I Think This Product Is Really Good.

I really liked this product since I have dark jet black hair I dyed it 2 times at first i used nice and nice and easy shade brown golden it did't work and then I used L'Oreal pairs foam dye shade purest brown , and it made my hair darker well blackest :L but it was alright I guess made me natural color darker , and then I came across this product so I brought it and I followed the instructions and my hair came out ginger like the box said basically copper blonde and I mostly saw it on my roots but I liked it because it weren't jet black and it was strong and i only left it on for 15 mins , washed it and let it dry and then it came out like highlights at the bottom parts mainly because I did't let it stay for so long , and then after that same day like 10 mins after I dyed it brown coca by Herbashine Garnier shade brown and I left it on for 10 mins and my hair actual came out a wonderful mixture of brown and copper and a little black I really like this product overall and i was desperate for a change i definitely recommend especially to those who have jet black hair like mine.

I Think This Clairol Born Blonde Is Awful, My Hai

i think this Clairol Born Blonde is awful, my hair is naturally light blonde but i dyed it a light brown a few months ago, my roots were coming back and decided to strip the colour from my hair using this product, my hair turned a un imagionable orange colour, went very brittle and started coming out in clumps. i did everything it said on the packet, left it no longer than a hour and did a strand test also. as i did it on a saturday night i couldnt ring up the number given until monday and as my hair was in such a shocking state no hairdresser will touch it . thanks Clairol.

What kind of dye had you used? There are sulfates in a lot of store bought dyes that react with lighteners, making your hair fry up and break off. You can't blame the bleach product in this case.

I Had High Lights On My Dark Brown Hair. I Wanted

I had high lights on my dark brown hair. I wanted to become all blond. The hair dresser turn my hair in strange combination of orange and ash. Then I decided to do it by myself. My hair is very long, so I got 4 bottles of Born Blonde lightener, 8 packages of the powder and 16 0z. Clairol Professional Developer .I mixed everything together following the directions. I applied that mix on my hair for 20 min or even less. For that I used a brush and gloves. Most of it I applied it as shampoo. After 1 hour and a half I washed it, my hair was very light blond. I mixed 3 0z . Born Blond Happy Honey Toner and a pack of Born Blond Cristal. I kept the that mix on my had for 30 min. And now I have the hair I've always dreamed about: light blond with even honey tone. I am so happy! And the every month root maintenance will be cheap!

torti4ka,

I plan to follow your method with my dark brown roots. I double checked the lightener instructions and they match yours to a tee (except that you used 4x). I didn't notice the happy honey toner at Sallys, but I think I would have assumed it would make my hair gold and would have avoided it. I'll check next time I go - what color would you say it made your hair? What do you use for a great after color conditioner and has this method worked for you since you tried it for the first time in March?

I have also been putting myself in the hairdressers hands and always getting brass or orangy tones. I just left them again with orangy hair after spending $150!!! I decided to research how to fix this and read about the born blonde series. I thought the toner may help me out and it did wonders! My white, orange and brass streaked hair turned a very pretty blond. I thought, why couldn't they do this in the salon? So I want control back with my hair again and I am hoping this born blonde product will help me do just that. thanks for your review. I'll post once I do mine - about 2 weeks or so. Can't wait!

Clairol Born Blonde Is Not Too Harsh On The Hair

Clairol Born Blonde is not too harsh on the hairGets rid of even permanent black hair dye. Very briefly, I had had black hair for nearly 2 years, dyed with a permanent black dye, and after being told by hairdressers that lightening it would not be possible, looked up some reviews online for this product, and decided to do it myself. I used a l'oreal prelightener to start with, which wasn't enough, but then ended up using in total 3 packs of the clairol prelightener, 2 in the first session, and 1 in the second session of bleaching, to get rid of the more stubborn parts of black on my hair. My roots had grown out, so unfortunately went blonde, but the rest of my hair went a light-ish coppery brown, which i am about to dye a bright red, so for removing dye, to dye your hair another colour, i would recommend this dye, although it may take a few packs for long black hair. My hair wasn't left too dry, but i did use extra conditioning treatments to avoid brittle hair. No good for those with black hair, to go blonde, you will most likely go a gingery/coppery brownChance of skin reaction, i had a small rash on my neck.

Clairol Born Blonde. I Did The Strand Test And Aft

Clairol Born Blonde. I did the strand test and after 90 minutes, the hair turned blonde. I applied Born Blonde and after 90 minutes washed it out of my medium brown hair. Much to my surprise, my hair was highlighter orange. The strand test did not indicate this, so it is pointless. I am very disappointed in this product.

This Is So Good! The Colour Is Such A Lovely Tone,

This is so good! the colour is such a lovely tone, takes the bleached bright yellow straight out. Amazing colour, even when my natural brown went bright yellow, the toner made it amazing! I love it.

Clairol Born Blonde Hair Color Is A Great Product

Clairol Born Blonde hair color is a great product if you need to correct a bad bleach or single-process blonde. I've used this many times to tone/correct brassy or fading blonde color, without causing damage. It actually conditions and improves the hair while you wait to do a more permanent correction. And if you bleach or frost, you can tone the hair to a cool, natural shade - without exposing your hair and scalp to more peroxide and ammonia. If you want to change the shade, you just wait 6 to 8 shampoos and the color will gradually fade (on-tone), and then you can recolor the same easy shampoo-in way. You can also remove the color quickly with a hot-oil (metalex ) or hot conditioning treatment. The 6oz. bottle gives several treatments/retouches. The shade range has a color for almost any shade of blonde.
