Style Smile Apparently Went Bust, And Got Taken Ov
Style Smile apparently went bust, and got taken over by Just Smile in July. Anyone had treatment with "stylesmile" in august or september ?? I believe that they are running both companies , but are trying to get away from style smile name due to all the bad reviews that come up via a google search.
If anyone is thinking of going here, don't waste your money. The treatment lasts for a couple of hours, and then it's gone. It's an amateur operation.. They will take your money away, and then do everything to prevent you from getting it back.
On the phone they sound nice, but when you complain, you realise just how amateur they are. You have a clueless girl, an older woman who just lies, and a rude little boy. They don't give any details, they say they will e-mail info that is important but you never get it. If the girl is on the phone, she hangs up when listening to a complaint, she's fairly clueless when challenged.
The treatments last much longer than they say they do , they aren't a clinic they rent out office space on different days, they are unqualified people , they are an amateur company. They actually shut office at 5pm, not 10pm as the website says. They don't take the safety measures they should, such as using bibs and making sure the "gel" doesnt get to your gums or down your throat. They don't tell you the great pain you suffer over the next week., instead telling us that it's a mild short pain.
This is an AMATEUR OPERATION .. BE WARNED .. Do not waste your money

I, Like All The Rest Of You Have Had A Shocking Ex
I, like all the rest of you have had a shocking exirience at a style smile 'clinic'. in my opinon they are a complete rip off, on the day of my treatment the laser wasn't working {which i didnt know untill afterwards} the woman use a handheld light which i later found out was the setting light for the gum protector, which incidently i didnt hace either. the bleech was spread all over my gums and teeth..........later that day my gums blistered and peeled leaving me with painfull open sores all around my teeth nd the pain was something else.
i would stronly urge anyone thinking of goning to the style smile clinic
DONT DO IT!!!!
and anyone who has, CONTACT WATCHDOG.
i also have concerns that they arnt registered with environmental health,
as there were no mouth rinsing facilities, stereliser or appropriate lighting, there was also an obvious lack of training.
i have since had my teeth whitened by a profesional DENTIST and they are fabulous, well worth the extra £100, wish id doe it right way the first time.

Wish The Site Would Allow Me To Rate 0 Stars.!! Li
Wish the site would allow me to rate 0 stars.!! Like others, I wish I had researched more and found this review forum before going for my first ever whitening treatment.
It was to spoil myself as I had just had my for my 40th birthday. When I was arranging the appointment I always thought I was dealing with a Clinic and was expecting a dentist-type environment and not a board room in a hotel.
Whilst the lady doing the procedure was very pleasant and mentioned that she used to be a dental nurse I was not filled with confidence when she was actually treating me. She started by telling me how her previous client had pulled the mouth piece out, shouting she didn't like it and that she had just cleaned the mess up.Great start!
She kept telling me then that my gums were 'too wet' and that the dam was not sticking properly....she took several attempts at getting this right. However, I do not think it was done correctly , after much effort, as I could feel the bleaching liquid seeping onto my gums and I was tempted to stop after the first session.
I was in the room for well over an hour and I was told there may be SOME blanching of my gums. On looking at my gums they were completely white where they had also been bleached. The assistant looked a little worried too. She also told me that my shade had lightened 4 shades and whilst I could see the tips of my teeth seemed whiter I was not really convinced. She told me my teeth would continue to lighten over the next 24 hrs... this obviously didn't happen. All that happened was that over the next few days the blanching changed to white and red blisters. I could not clean my teeth properly for about 2 weeks as my gums were so blistered and would bleed at the slightest touch.I had photos of my blistered gums which I wanted to share with the company but nobody has responded to my 10 e-mails. There is just no follow up or customer service what-so-ever.
I am so glad I have found an e-mail address for the GDC thanks to this forum, many thanks.

The Best Thing I,ve Done Was Get My Teeth Whitened
The best thing i,ve done was get my teeth whitened everybody comments on how white they are and I am very pleased with the results by style smile. I paid an extra £60 to guarantee maximum results and that it what I got 18 shades lighter as white as they possibly can go they were lasered 3 times to get this result. mine was done by a dental nurse who has been with the company since it started so I felt in good hands and she was really good.

Hi , I Recsently Used Style Smile Clinics As
Hi ,
I recsently used style smile clinics as a treat having my teeth whitened for my wedding day. I went to my appointment only to find it was performed in an office block in the center of manchester. I dont know why I didnt walk away then. The girl did my treatment which lasted an hour not 15 minutes as stated on the website - it wasnt done by a dentist but a young beautician. The procedure was excruciatingly painful having shooting pains in my teeth -then for two days after. They did initially get 6 shades whiter and I was pleased but since they have regressed back even though I dont smoke drink coffee or other foods as I have been careful. The girl who did them also dripped the solution into my nostril which burned like hell. This company are not GDC registered they are purelely a beauty service. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone. To get my money back I have to have another painful procedure so I have cut my losses. I will be trying to get some form of compensation through citizens advice and if anyone else has been successful without a second treatment please respond to this post.
Be warned. Dont ignore this.
Let’s get things in perspective, no matter where you go beautician or your local dentist, to get your teeth white you will have some degree of discomfort (zinger shooting pains in your teeth) during and after the treatment for up to 48 hours, although these pains usually disappear overnight. Clove oil or some sensitivity toothpastes can ease the pain, good beauty spas/salons will provide you with these.
Spas and salons get a bad press because they are easy targets as they aren't dentists, i suggest you go and have your teeth whitened at your local dentist, if they come out white, great, not everyone’s teeth will whiten, but you will experience the same discomfort as if you had them done at a beauty spa, apart from the fact that the dentist should guarantee that you don't get burned (white)gums with the bleaching gel by covering any soft tissue with a resin that is cured with the uv light (this is where some beauty spas/salons get it wrong, they allow bleach to seep under the resin barrier.
The preparation has to be good but you will get some zinger/shooting pains, anyone who doesn’t is lucky, once gel is applied to the enamel it opens up the pores/channels directly to the nerves duh! the level of pain varies from very little to a lot, it varies from one individual to another, but if you get zinger/shooting pains at your dentist after tooth whitening, you're not going to complain on a forum like this, you will just moan to friends or not at all, right!
Ask your dentist how many tooth whitening treatments they have performed in the last year, you just assume they know how to do it correctly, most only do a handful of treatments a year, some don't do any, and are therefore not any better than beauty spas/salons, in fact i'd argue that some beauty spa/salons are better than dentists at teeth whitening based on the fact that if those individual technicians are doing treatments every day, by their very nature they become very good at that particular task (tooth whitening).
Dentists of which i am one, have a strong lobby in the UK and an MP in parliament trying to get the EU law changed so that tooth whitening can only be performed by dentists, it is currently legal for non dentists to perform tooth whitening, but even dentists should only perform tooth whitening if they use gel that is under a certain level of hydrogen peroxide concentration, but it’s a brave local council that takes a dentist to court on that, they won’t, the dentist lobby is too strong.
There are many scare stories in the press (daily mail/sun etc)all to this end, dentist are mainly trying to protect their incomes by lobbying for this, it just takes the occasional bad publicity that comes from shady operators like style smile to reflect on all other beauty spas/salons. I believe in fair comment that's why i'm giving my opinion. The best recommendation is one from a friend or family member, be it for using a beauty spa/salon or dentist, not all are the same, look at breast augmentation as an example, i presume you would ask a cosmetic surgeon how many procedures he’d undertaken wouldn’t you?
Stop being a wuss, ask, ask, ask, an experienced practitioner would love to tell you how many treatments they’ve performed (you won’t be able to get them to shut up), insist on the most experienced practitioner. Please be open minded, there are strong lobbys at work trying to discredit spas/salons, so take note of reviews on websites like these, but also factor in what i have said.
A lot of dentists haven't a clue about tooth whitening because they have little practical experience but no one questions them. Think who would you prefer to change your car tyres, quick fit or a car dealer. I’m sure my colleagues will hate me for airing these views, but it’s still a free country, so please don’t shoot the messenger, good luck. Dr Stemmer

I found this review very helpful because...exactly how I felt about my experience in a hotel suite...wish I had just walked away when I found out that this was the 'clinic'
This is exactly how I feel about the company. You had to register a complaint within a certain period in order for them to consider..... I registered my disatisfaction with the whole procedure the following day but after about 20 e-mails have not even recieved an acknowledgement.... now they have taken my 300 pounds I don't think they care. Did you get any success with compensation; I am thinking of contacting my family legal protection on my home insurance and see if they can give me any advise
