Great Picture, Poor Sound
We bought this TV for the kitchen for £119 from Comet to be mounted on a wall stand. Setup was very easy and the picture quality is excellent. Despite being on a standard analogue aerial and cable it found all the digital channels in our good signal area, although some of the more obscure channels are breaking up. I fully expect this to be corrected when I put some decent digital cable in.
The one poor aspect of the TV is the sound which is very thin, tinny and lacking bass. I have heard cheap and nasty transistor radios from the 1960's which sound better and am wondering whether the set actually has a fault. I have been into the menu and selected minimum treble and maximum bass which has made it just about acceptable. There appear to be two very small speakers located in the base of the TV pointing downwards so they only have the depth of the TV (3cm?) to work with. I may try adding some computer speakers to the headphone socket to see if that improves the quality.
The Electronic Programme Guide is one of the better menus I have seen as it gives a list of each selected programme in a vertical list covering the whole day. Overall - good value, it would be excellent if the sound was better. I would suggest you listen to one before buying to see if it is acceptable.
