“Could be better!”

We can relate to some of the comments already made - we too were told (less than enthusiastically) that they would need to check if we were within the postcode area for the Southampton branch. Although we did not feel that this was the best start to our John Lewis experience we decided to go ahead and purchase our kitchen from JL. Along the way we found the customer service we received to be good, bad and indifferent - we expected better. We also felt that the fitter did not behave in the manner we were expecting from someone who was a representative for JL. During the site survey visit the fitter made reference to us having a single oven - we now realise he was trying to establish if we had children, because JL look at if you have children when deciding if it is okay for them to work during the weekend - we feel it would have been more appropriate and considerate if the fitter had asked us during that visit if we were happy for him to work the weekend. We are pleased with the quality of our kitchen, doors etc come with a 10 year guarantee, and the snagging issues we encountered were resolved to a satisfactory standard.
