“Disappointed”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 443Bowers on 17/01/2022

Having had a Blanco sink in a different house we purchased a Blanco stainless steel sink recently. Very disappointed. It scratches so easily we are reluctant to place anything in it. I cannot believe how scruffy it looks after only a few months. Just awful. May as well have bought hardware shop's own make. Will not buy Blanco again

Totally agree! My stainless steel Blanco sink is months old and it already has significant scratches despite being very careful. Previously I had a stainless steel sink which was very hard wearing and looked good after many years. I would not buy Blanco again. Its possible however that stainless steel is not what it was, generally.

“Water spots and discoloration”

★☆☆☆☆

written by SusieQuesie on 01/04/2020

Very excited to receive this beautiful sink for our newly remodeled kitchen. In less than a week, water spots started showing up when the sink wasn't dried immediately after using it. We also left a glass in the sink over night and now there is a ring left on the sink. We have had the sink for 4 weeks now and we absolutely hate it!! So heart breaking to spend all that money in an brand new beautiful kitchen and we have this eyesore!

“Poor quality and marks extremely easily.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Mbarham20 on 04/12/2018

We were advised by our fitters to go for a Blanco brushed steel sink due their superior quality, always had Franke sinks previously. Very disappointed with quality very thin and barely holds a single hole mixer tap. On top of this it marks very easily after two months it was in a worse condition than the Franke we replaced after 15 years. We are a retired couple who live alone and have a dishwasher so sink is not used for washing up occasionally used for soaking clothes and glasses not suitable for dishwasher.

“Sink chipping”

★★★☆☆

written by McGee483 on 09/04/2018

Our sink has several very small chips after only 1 1/2 years of use. When I contacted Blanco, their only response was that it was not under warranty. I contacted them twice to ask what could be causing the problem and they did not respond. We have been very careful with the sink and had better luck with a lower end composite granite sink.

“Leaking sink”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Goold on 04/01/2018

Blanco 500 u under mount sink leakes! We complained to our kitchen fitter who in turn contacted Blanco. We sent pictures of the holes that had appeared in the base of the sink to be told that this was due to bleach! Considering that we have had stainless steel sinks since we first got married in 1970 and have never had a problem we are astounded. Speaking to kitchen fitters, designers and friends and family no one had heard of this before surprisingly. My husband is an engineer and has dealt with numerous types of metals is convinced that this problem is caused by debris in the manufacturing process. Blanco wasn’t helpful at all and we have had to purchase a new sink and pay to have it fitted, disgusting. As the sink is under mounted this isn’t an easy fix, but we felt we had to have a replacement to make sure it will fit our granite work top which was cut to suit. Be warned as Blanco don’t put any warnings on the sink which we felt that should be obligatory and this makes your warranty invalid. Disgraceful.

“Impossible to clean except by bleach”

★☆☆☆☆

written by sfKoenig403 on 23/10/2017

Having had a Franke sink , I was unable to find one in the size required for my new kitchen The blanco sink is made of steel , yes , however cannot be cleaned except with bleach. The finish after two months use is poor. Noting the various disputes with Blanco over leaking sinks caused by bleach it is a no buy , I should have had the smaller Franke sink

“leaking sink”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 12/10/2017

Our blanco sink fitted in 2005 has rust holes in the small sink, the area manager came out to look at the sink in March and stated he had never seen anything like it.he also stated blanco sinks come with a 25 year warranty, now however in October he informs me that there was only a one year warranty on blanco sinks in 2005and has now offered to let us have the newest equivalent model of our sink at a sixty percent discount which I believe still costs more than our original.I will not be dealing with Blanco or recommending them to anybody

“Less than two years old and like a sieve.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Toooldntired on 02/09/2016

Blanco Livit 6S CNS 3 "Rev.BF m.UEL 2 Bo stainless steel sink. Manufactures date 09-12-2013 (obtained from the label under the sink) Installed August 2014 in a refurbished house by a builder and we moved in in Jan 2015. Expecting a "quality German made product with a 25 year guarantee" to last in a house used by two pensioners was an error as this sink has now started to leak like a sieve from a couple of places through the stainless steel. The sink seems very thin and there are a number of other worrying indications of further leaks to come. Blanco support say they need the receipts from the builder from two years ago before they will look at the problem. There is no chance of obtaining them so the only option is to patch the underneath until a replacement (not blanco) sink can be fitted. This sink also scratches very easily. You need to keep receipts and buy wisely. You have been warned.

“Ignore the overhype”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 29/08/2016

Purchased Blanco sink expecting quality for the price I paid. Not what I got. Would have been better off going to DIY store. Ignore all the hype in the ads. Complaint dealt with badly. Would rip it out but just fitted to new expensive work top so stuck with it. German quality ??? No Very thin stainless that make taps wobble !!!! Very disapointed

“Refused to replace damaged sink”

★☆☆☆☆

written by mgrabsky on 23/09/2014

Sink arrived damaged. Blanco and their supplier refused to replace as we had not opened the box within three days. They claimed there would have been a sticker on the box informing us to do so. No such sticker was on the box we received. Offered us small discount on a new one!

“Poor quality Blanco sink”

★☆☆☆☆

written by SariahRasmussen on 11/09/2014

I have had exactly the same expereince with a Blanco stainless steel sink. After less than a couple of years a hole near the plug in the small sink appeared. When I contacted the kitchen supplier we purchased from, they came back wuith the exact excuse from Blanco regarding it being bleach that had caused it. I was not ahppy and insisted the sink was replaced. The sink went off to be tested. After disruption, having to take off the bench to take sink out it got replaced eventually. 6 years later we now have a leak from the rubber seal underneath the sinkhole. Won't be purchasing a Blanco sink again as they are a nightmare to get clean too.

“Not stainless”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AydenFoster294 on 10/09/2014

I have had several stainless steel sinks over the last 40 odd years, different houses , different makes of sink. This one was recommended by my kitchen fitter since it came with its own taps. I have kept previous sinks sparkling with washing up liquid and the occasional swish with dilute bleach. This sink however never looks clean for more than two minutes. I have finally had to resort to metal polish to get a shine on it. Awful. I will be replacing it with another make.

“Great sink but not a good plug top”

★★★★☆

written by totallypeedoff on 06/05/2014

My second Silgranit sink - had the first for 13 years. This new one is just as good except for the plug/stopper in the large basin. Whilst the original had a slim shaft and enlarged head making it simple to pull out, the new one has a head almost the same size as the shaft and it's hard to grip. I've contacted Blanco UK to no avail - they can't or won't help - apparently their supplier of the waste kit has been changed and that's that! CONSIDERING THE PRICE OF SILGRANIT THEY SHOULD RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I have by using the old plug with tarnished chrome - looks bad on a new sink and not a good advert for Blanco!!

Don't you find it hard to pull out the plug from the large sink? It has too slender a shaft and head!

“BLANCO SINKS LEAK”

★☆☆☆☆

written by RUPERT007 on 06/04/2014

Purchased sink 3 years 4 months ago during whole kitchen refurbishment. I thought I was buying a quality product. The sink began to leak via a hole near the plughole. I contacted Blanco who sent rather a dismissive e-mail stating that the problem was due to bleach, how Blanco knew this without making futher enquiries is mystifying, they showed no interest. I had a previous Blanco sink which lasted for 19 years, sometimes I used bleach on it, it did not leak! I later phoned Blanco to request the e-mail address of the North West Sales Manager, as yet I have not received a reply. The Kitchen company I purchased the sink from state that they have contacted the Blanco Rep, however Blanco would not offer any assistance with a replacement sink. Wish I had seen previous review before I purchased Blanco. Will never trust them again!

“Blanco Stainless steel sink”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Paulxj on 30/10/2012

Just over 5 years ago we had a new kitchen fitted and had installed a Blanco stainless steel sink. Recently I noticed it was leaking and traced it to a hole in the stainless steel near to the plug hole. Blanco are German and advertise themselves in such a way that you are purchasing a superior quality product. I contacted Blanco and they blamed the use of bleach. Yes we do you bleach now and again. Our local plumber replaced the sink and stated that he had never seen a sink fail like this before and in his opinion it was a faulty product. He based this on his experience of over 30 years and the location of the hole. I again contacted Blanco and pointed this out to them and that the sink was not of merchantable quality due to a flaw in the metal. A month later I am still waiting for a reply. I have no problem with companies selling products as quality products when they are, or when they accept customers complaints, but I object to a company who fail to accept responsibility for their products and fail to respond to complaints. My sink may be a one off, but the customer services behind Blanco UK are appalling, so if you decide to purchase a Blanco product, do not expect any after sales service. Customer care does not exist!
