Washes Ok, But Lasted Less Than 4 Years

Bought this washing machine nearly four years ago, in February 2010 washes ok, but cycles take ages (2.5 hours plus on a normal 40 degree wash), and then it died last week, drum didn't turn at all, bearings gone, had to buy a new one because not economic to repair. Terrible value for money. This is the first Zanussi I bought which lasted less than ten years, I'm very disappointed.

Delivered Today A Zanussi Zwf12070w1 Washing Machi

Delivered today a Zanussi ZWF12070W1 washing machine. The sizes as given on Marks and Spencer website are misleading and innaccurate. The depth measurement is actually 4 cm more than stated - in the booklet that came with the machine it is given as

" 63cm (including the porthole) " - not 59cm.

Size was crucial for us to get it through a utility room door. Not only does the porthole protrude, the operating switch also does to the same extent. Result? Four horrendous hours attempting to find a way of getting it in. Skirting board removed; door surround removed; porthole door removed; switch removed - with considerable tepidation. You MUST ensure that customers are made aware of the fact that Zanussi machines are actually one of the deepest from front to back on the market. Our old machine - a Hotpoint - came out with no problems whatsoever and from the inaccurate size description given by M&S we assumed that the new machine would be the same!

Zwf 12070 W1 Drum Will Not Turn On Washing Cycle -

ZWF 12070 W1 drum will not turn on washing cycle - faulty PCB was replaced on its 10th month. Worked for 2 months now needs another PCB!!!!!! asked to pay £200. My neighbour has the exact machine, also the PCB burnt during warranty period.

I don't recommend this model at all, my experience it's useless repair force admit it and suggest replacement.

I Also Read The Guide And Filled Our Zanussi Zwf12

I also read the guide and filled our Zanussi ZWF12070 with two litres of water to get the machine to start. Got it from Comet as it was in stock and needed a washer straightaway as our old washer broke after we got back from our holidays and we had a stack of washing to clear. Had it for 10 days now and have done 40-50 washes so far. Very good machine for the price and can see the difference in the washing compared to the old machine.

Unlike The Previous Reviewer, I Read The Guide And

Unlike the previous reviewer, I read the guide and filled our Zanussi ZWF12070 with two litres of water to get the machine to started. Got it from John Lewis on time and for a very good price of £199 delivered. Had it for a few days now and have done about twenty five washes so far. Brilliant machine for the price and compared to the Zanussi it is replacing. I would and already have recommended this appliance to friends.
